About IRRI The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science; improving the health and welfare of rice farmers and consumers; and protecting the rice-growing environment for future generations. Job Purpose
The Knowledge Management Manager will oversee the development and implementation of PDMOโs knowledge management strategy and function, ensuring effective documentation, sharing, and utilization of knowledge and information resources within and outside the unit and among external stakeholders. The position will ensure that PDMOโs databases and systems are amenable to knowledge/learning generation, and will lead in the analysis and development of knowledge materials and impact stories in support of IRRIโs business development and other external engagement units in IRRI. The role will also lead in analyzing and summarizing IRRIโs different innovation products and creating information materials for different institutional needs, especially in business development. This role contributes significantly to enhancing IRRIโs organizational learning and visibility in line with its strategic goals.
This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baรฑos, Philippines and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and implementation of PDMOโs knowledge and management framework and guidelines.
- Lead the design and deployment of appropriate dashboards or other information systems to enable efficient monitoring and reporting of project, program, and portfolio accomplishments.
- Lead the development of key project and portfolio information materials in support of business development, partnerships, and other strategic aims of management and the institute overall.
- Collaborate with scientists, researchers, and communication teams to develop knowledge products that support IRRIโs strategic objectives.
- Engage external partners and stakeholders to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaborative learning.
- Work with IRRI Knowledge Services and other programmers to develop useful tools, applications, and dashboards that enable effective knowledge sharing within the Institute and amplify the awareness about IRRIโs innovation products.
- Work with project management and project implementation teams to develop useful information products and systems to monitor, track and report project progress and accomplishments
- Work with the monitoring and evaluation team to develop useful information products and systems in support of IRRIโs monitoring, evaluation, impact assessment and learning requirements.
- Ensure timely dissemination of knowledge products through appropriate internal and external channels.
- In coordination with the IRRI Knowledge Services, and relevant teams, oversee the quality of digital services within PDMO, ensuring robust and effective information retrieval systems and insights generation.
- Conduct training and capacity-building activities for staff on knowledge management practices.
- Co-develop different tools, applications and systems for PDMOโs different functional deliverables including: project management monitoring, M&E, proposal tracking, funds forecasting, etc.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Information Management, Library Science, Communications, Business administration, Agricultural Sciences or related fields with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Bachelorโs degree or higher in Information Management, Library Science, Communications, Business administration, Agricultural Sciences or related fields with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proven track record in developing and managing knowledge management systems within an international organization or research institution.
Skills Required
Mandatory
- Advanced knowledge of digital and physical information management systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
Preferred
Familiarity with agricultural research or international development sectors. Experience with content management systems (CMS) and data analytics tools.
