Job Background/Overview:
Since its inception in 1933, the IRC delivers lasting impact to refugees fleeing from war or disaster by offering lifesaving care, life-changing assistance, and empowering individuals and communities to become self-reliant. The External Relations department was created in early 2020 and is comprised of 3 main but complementary functional areas: Private fundraising, Communications and Advocacy. The department is building a bold strategy that will improve IRCโs ability to โpunch above its weightโ in private income, advocacy, and brand awareness.
Supporting this endeavor is the Global Partnerships and Philanthropic Services (GPPS) Unit. Reporting to the Senior Director, GPPS consists of functional specialists across a variety of high-value fundraising support functions providing all elements of cultivation, support, and stewardship to high-value donors, partners and supporters, comprising of the following pillars: Program Services, Program Impact, Funding Impact, Operational Partnerships/Contributions in Kind, and Employee Engagement and Workplace Giving. This role sits within Funding Impact, which focuses on donor engagement, communications, emergency fundraising, and major IRC campaigns, such as World Refugee Day and Year End.
The Manager will be part of a strong team dedicated to donor engagement, recognition and cultivation. They serve as an integral part of the team, overseeing the departments donor acknowledgement process, writing a variety of engagement and recognition content for donors, and keeping high-value fundraisers abreast of new and appealing IRC initiatives and media pieces for cultivation.
Major Responsibilities:
โข Lead on all donor communications regarding crisis anniversaries, world moments, and key press opportunities for the organization
โข Collect content for monthly donor newsletter and support in its writing each month
โข Lead on certain IRC campaigns such as International Womenโs Day, IRCโs annual Watchlist, etc. to ensure HV fundraising teamsโ needs are incorporated into content and engagement assets for each moment
โข Support on larger IRC campaigns by reviewing and refining content with the support of the Senior Officer, Funding Impact
โข Supervise the donor acknowledgement and tax receipt process for high value donors (all private high net worth individuals, corporates and foundations) to ensure donors receive accurate and timely acknowledgement of their gifts
โข Plan, research, write, and coordinate design of donor anniversary reports for donors who have been giving to the IRC for 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40+ years
โข Identify and maintain a diverse range of IRC signatories and voices for all communications with donors
โข Liaise with Prospect Analytics team to ensure all donor engagement activities and preferences stay up to date in Salesforce and coordinate report generation for communications and reporting
โข Work on other projects as needed

Essential Qualifications:
โข Minimum 3 years of experience in communications; donor engagement and stewardship; fundraising; and/or a related field.
โข Proven ability to maintain positive, collaborative, productive relationships with staff at all levels
โข Sound verbal communication skills to work with a wide array of people and personalities
โข Excellent writing skills and the ability to write concisely in various styles for a range of groups and individuals, including internally and externally with donors
โข Strong organizational and time-management skills
โข Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks, without sacrificing quality through strong attention-to-detail
โข Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
โข Sound judgment in maintaining confidentiality of donor information
โข Specific experience with fundraising and donor engagement a plus
โข Knowledge of CRM usage is required and knowledge of Salesforce a plus
โข Passion for the IRCโs mission and commitment to private sector partnerships
Working Environment:
This role may require working remotely or hybrid depending on location. Applicants must have a home or alternate workspace they can effectively complete their work from during regularly scheduled hours.
Compensation:
Posted pay ranges apply to US and UK-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

All US employees are eligible for sick time, a 403b retirement savings plans: up to 4.5% immediately vested matching contribution, plus an 3-7% additional IRC contribution, and an Employee Assistance Program which is available to our staff and their families to support in times of crisis and mental health struggles.
