CIMMYT is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Digital Specialist to join its communications department.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective digital strategies to strengthen CIMMYTโs online presence. This includes managing social media channels, creating engaging content for diverse digital platforms, and continuously monitoring performance to optimize strategies and ensure impact.
The position is based at CIMMYTโs headquarters in Texcoco, Mexico, and offers an exciting opportunity to shape and implement recruitment strategies for a global, mission-driven organization.
Specific duties:
1. Strategy
Collaborate with managers at all levels to design and implement tailored recruitment and mobility strategies aligned with CIMMYTโs staffing plans and organizational goals. Manage the operational plan to strengthen CIMMYTโs reputation and maximize the impact of its research through global and regional media outreach. Execute donor communications plans. Work closely with researchers, scientists, and subject matter experts to gather information and develop content. Collaborate ensure integrated content delivery. Provide input into Chapter strategy and operational plan.
2. Creative Hub
Ensure consistent brand expression and powerful visuals through digital platforms. Develop and oversee the creation of high-quality content for websites and social media publications. Write and edit a wide variety of information, knowledge and corporate products as required, ensuring that content is delivered to the highest quality and according to requirements. Establish and enforce editorial policies and procedures, in line with C&O global policies and procedures. Contribute to CGIAR publishing as required. Ensure that the company's brand voice is consistent across all regions and communication channels.

Manage digital communications strategy to support communications goal of positioning CIMMYT as a leader within food and agriculture. Plan and execute social and digital campaigns. Monitor and evaluate CIMMYTโs communications and outreach digital platforms and regularly provide analysis and recommendations for improvements. Prepare quarterly reports including CIMMYTโs Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for social media, media, website, and publications. Develop and curate content calendars to optimize content for different platforms and formats. Manage social media profiles and accounts, including engaging with followers and responding to comments and inquiries to monitor social media channels. Manage digital communications strategy to support communications goal of positioning CIMMYT as a leader within food and agriculture. Plan and execute social and digital campaigns. Monitor and evaluate CIMMYTโs communications and outreach digital platforms and regularly provide analysis and recommendations for improvements. 8. Administration
Manage the workflow and plans of CIMMYTโs Communication unit. Manage a global roster of cost- efficient, high-quality freelance editors, translators, designers, web programmers and other specialists.Requirements
Bachelorโs degree in communications, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field. 4โ5 years of proven experience in digital communications, social media management, content creation, or related areas, preferably in an international organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (C1) Strong knowledge of digital platforms and tools. Experience working with creative professionals (e.g., editors, designers, developers) and managing outsourced services or freelance contributors.Core Competencies:
