CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Project Administrator to work in Science and Innovation Chapter in the program of Sustainable agrifood Systems.  

 

The positions will be based at CIMMYT\u2019s headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City.

 

Specific duties:

Plan, design, execute, and monitor the activities of the technicians hired for the various projects. Coordinate and validate the tracking of technicians' activities to ensure the fulfillment of assigned tasks and project objectives. Present reports, analyses, progress updates, and/or status of the technicians' contracts and activities in the projects, as required by the program. Manage lifecycle contract with third parties. Manage project grants from the signing of the agreement through to project closure and/or renewal, ensuring the delivery of agreed outputs and compliance with established processes. Review and analyze the financial and technical reports of grant-funded projects to ensure compliance with donor requirements, as needed. Present reports, analyses, and/or status updates on the various stages of grant management and technician contracts, as required by the program. Manage and process grant payments through the 365 module and other financial management systems. Provide administrative guidance and support to involved staff, ensuring compliance with grant requirements. Review and analyze the financial and technical reports of project grants to ensure they meet the requirements set by CIMMYT and the donors. Contribute to the visibility of CIMMYT's administrative processes, partnerships, and impacts. Perform other duties in the area as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

Required qualifications, skills, and attitudes:

The selected candidate must have a bachelor\u2019s degree in business administration, Public Administration, International Development, or similar areas. The selected candidate must have a minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience. English is a must and will be tested, and the candidate should score a minimum of B2 of CEFR. The selected candidate must have an excellent understanding of project design methods and tools. Ability to articulate technical metrics into practical operations, with strong conceptual and research/analytical skills. The selected candidate must have experience with project management and reporting tools (MS Project). Excellent drafting, report writing and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal relations and ability to work in a multinational environment and with regular interaction with public and private organizations. Excellent computer skills, including in MS Office software. The selected candidate must have a demonstrated ability in data collection, data management, and analysis. Analytical skills and ability to summarize required large amounts of information. Strong level of customer orientation and flexibility, with a high level of attention to detail. High level of cultural sensitivity to understand the needs of all staff and partners. Ability to work under pressure and as a member of a diverse work team. High level of responsibility and ability to work independently, in a results-oriented workplace and often during workload and time pressure.
