Job Purpose
The UNFPA country office in South Africa seeks to strengthen its ICT and Admin capabilities by getting a consultant to assist in the said areas.ย
Background and Rationale
The South Africa country office has been facing challenges regarding the provision of ICT services. This affected the delivery of services and disrupted high-level government and partners meetings that now in the new normal, are held online. The office has tried to engage UNDP to resolve the ICT support challenges to no avail.ย
In order to respond to the above, the office has decided to engage the services of an Admin/ICT associate for a period of 4 months, to assist with admin and ICT tasks.ย ย ย
Scope of Work
1.ย ICT support to staff (day-to-day ICT maintenance and support)
ย Support with the setting up of new computers, printers, monitors, and other devices for staff. ย Support with the installation and configuration of software applications required by the staff, including office software, security tools, or any specialized applications.2.ย Digitalization
3.ย Programme support
Provide technical support to the programme for the integration of digital solutions to programme design, implementation and reporting. Contribute to managing the adoption of any agreed changes to service scope quickly to minimize disruption to the CO operations. Responsible for operating within appropriate controls for changes in the technology environment.ยEducational Level
A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification (NQF 7) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field is required
Additional Certifications:
ITILย
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+.
Skills and Experience
Relevant working experience, including network administration, support to the management of hardware and software platforms, telecommunications facilities, and knowledge of Windows-based packages/applications; Relevant certifications in hardware and software management and application required, including Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). Good knowledge of PC/LAN operating systems, Microsoft Windows, corporate ICT security, viral protection systems & Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)systems. Experience implementing and managing endpoint protection, firewalls, and data loss prevention tools Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. Familiarity with cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams). Ability to use tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for data visualization and reporting Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform a variety of standard specialized and non-specialized tasks and work processes that are fully documented, researched, recorded and reported. Experience in client support, such as a Help Desk or User Support Unit, would be an advantage; Knowledge of one local language is desirable.UNFPA Work Environment:
