For more information on UNOV, please visit the website www.unov.org ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of the Chief Librarian, and within limits of assigned authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following specific duties: โข Provide general office support services to help ensure the smooth functioning of the office. โข Conduct a physical inventory of the libraryโs UN Documents collections in preparation for future digitization projects. โข Verify against other UN Library collections to identify whether UN documents have already been digitized, exist in print collections elsewhere, or are candidates for digitization ensuring completeness and accuracy, and identifying missing items from the UNOV Library collection. โข Maintain and update detailed records indicating candidates for weeding, priority digitization, and duplication with other collections. โข Perform collection maintenance, including shelving, shelf reading, weeding and re-organizing collections as required. โข Provide back-up assistance with client services in the Library Client Service office. โข Assist with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making. โข Operate and maintain a variety of office equipment in the performance of basic office functions, e.g. photocopier, facsimile, printer, scanner, etc. โข Perform other work-related duties, as required. Work ExperienceA minimum of two (2) years of experience in library work, archives, information network administration or related field is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to 0 for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience searching library databases and collections, such as Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) or digital repositories, is required. Experience working with international or government documents, particularly UN Documents, is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
