ย Context
Under the overall supervision of the Migration, Environment, Climate Change and Risk Reduction (MECR) National Officer in Brasรญlia, and the direct supervision of the MECR Project Coordinator in Brasรญlia, the Project Assistant will be responsible and accountable for the following:
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of programme activities
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyze and present information and data on Migration, Environment, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction in Brazil
- Provide administrative support to program implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest remedial actions
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentation and other forms of documentation
- Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions
- Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records
- Participate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation with local authorities, partners, United Nations agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the Migration, Environment, Climate Change and Risk Reduction programming
- Assist in monitoring work of implementing partners and report non-compliances to the supervisor
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned Education

- Previous experience of a minimum of one year of relevant work experience
- Previous experience in and knowledge of IOMโs MECR programming is desirable
- Proven professional experience working with migration or human rights.

- Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
