The Financial Institutions Group team is recruiting an Investment Analyst on a Development Assignment for 12 months to work closely with IFCโs Investment Officers, who are responsible for the origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution of investment projects as well as portfolio management. This role will specifically provide support on transactions and portfolio in the Financial Institutions Group.
This position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and will be effective from October 1, 2025.
Duties & Accountabilities:
โข Conduct market and industry research and analysis.
โข Participate in all aspects of IFCโs project processing cycle from project development to disbursement.
โข Conduct financial statement analysis, financial modeling, DCF, and comparable company analysis to support informed decision making.
โข Distill and summarize large amounts of information from various sources to prepare business documents and presentations.
โข Analyze and synthesize debt pricing benchmarks and equity trading comparables.
โข Identify data collection needs to support the assessment of financial, operational, development impact, and market information as well as relevant ES&G matters.
โข Coordinate closely with environmental and social colleagues to ensure the maintenance of high environmental and social standards in IFCโs investment.
โข Coordinate with the client to obtain needed information.
โข Participate in investment negotiations.
โข Supervise investments in portfolio companies.
โข Collaborate efficiently with a range of industry and regional IFC colleagues.
Selection Criteria
โข Bachelor's or equivalent degree.
โข At least 2 years of work experience with the Financial Institutions Group Upstream or Investment and understanding of financial markets.
โข Fully understands the financial aspects of investment transactions, including how to conduct market analysis and determine financial soundness of company or project opportunity.
โข Ability to develop financial models.
โข Ability to conduct market and industry research and analysis.
โข Strong attention to detail and diligence in the quality of oneโs own work.
โข Able to utilize graphics and tables to effectively and creatively present data.
โข Highly motivated, committed to the highest ethical standard, team-focused attitude, keen sense of accountability and capacity to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines.
โข Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
โข Keen interest in development finance and working multicultural environment.
โข Fluency in English required, proficiency in French is a plus.
