ย Context ย In close collaboration with national and local authorities and experienced Partners, through the HELIOS+ project IOM aims at promoting the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into the Greek society through activities for employability support, the provision of Greek language courses and vocational training, the support for independent living, including rental subsidies, activities promoting social cohesion and inclusion. ย Under the overall supervision of the Regional Coordinator (South Aegean) and the direct supervision of the Project Assistant (Operations), the successful candidate will provide support in implementing project activities through provision of interpretation and/or translation services.
- Make the initial contact with beneficiaries and build an open relationship of respect and trust with them.
- Assist with interpretation and cultural mediation. Internal and external candidates are eligible to apply to this vacancy. For the purpose of the vacancy, internal candidates are considered as first-tier candidates.
- Reply to the calls received in the projectโs helpline according to the guidelines received, identify new issues raised and report them to the Project Assistant (Operations), record the calls in the helpline tracker.
- Develop and maintain good relations with the beneficiaries, relevant stakeholders, and other humanitarian actors to support adequate implementation and coordination of project activities.
- Identify gaps and barriers prohibiting beneficiaries from accessing the full range of services available to them.
- Translate documents and information materials to be disseminated to project beneficiaries.
- Assist in mediation activities in close cooperation with IOM staff in an objective and impartial way.
- Provide general assistance to other project staff. during project activities in the HELIOS+ Centers, the Reception Facilities and elsewhere, as required.

- High school degree/certificate with minimum one year of relevant work experience.ย
- University degree from an accredited academic institution an advantage. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Previous work experience in a similar role;ย
- Possess adequate combination of knowledge, education, training experience and skills to perform essential functions of the position;ย
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment preferred. Skills

- Valid driverโs license with at least five years driving experience an advantage. Languages
- Fluency in English and/or Greek (written and oral) is required.ย
- Fluency (written and oral) in one or more of the following languages is required: Arabic, Dari/Farsi, Kurmanji.ย
- Fluency in two or more of the above-mentioned languages is considered an asset. IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish.
