5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Program Overview

WRI Indonesia is an independent research organization that turns big ideas into action at the nexus of environment, economic opportunity, and human well-being. At WRI Indonesia, we aim to bring innovations in research and business approaches in order to create the enabling conditions for Indonesia to achieve robust economic growth while respecting environmental and social values. We seek to contribute to the accomplishment of ambitious sustainable development goals through working with leaders in public and private sectors, as well as collaborating with civil society organizations, in turning big ideas into action.

Within our Food-Land-Water (FLW) Program, we strive to protect and restore ecosystems. Freshwater (hereinafter referred to as โ€˜waterโ€™) is a vital element in the ecosystem that supports human life, natural resilience, and economic sustainability. Access to clean, sufficient, and affordable water resources is essential for ensuring justice, equality, environmental services, and ecosystem resilience. However, anthropogenic and climatic factors have challenged water security and safety in Indonesia. According to the Aqueduct Country Rankings, Indonesia is ranked 55th for baseline water stress, 10th for drought risk, and 14th for riverine flood risk out of 164 countries. Therefore, water program within WRI Indonesia aims to accelerate contribution for water-related ecosystem protection and restoration, improving human well-being, and contributing to the equal economic growth. Freshly started in 2024, the water program of WRI Indonesia continues research and prepares field implementation programs collaboratively with public and private stakeholders.
