Work LocationHome based Expected duration06.01 - 31.12.2026 Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe United Nations office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) experience shows that capacity building is a key factor in enhancing Member Statesโ€™ ability to tackle drugs, crime and terrorism in all their aspects. The knowledge gap between countries is often wide and growing due to the unbalanced economic and social growth as well as the lack of international cooperation and coordination. This situation is not only between countries but within them, including some of the most prosperous. In June 2010, the global project GLOU61 UNODC Global eLearning, was approved. This project aims at addressing the shortcomings and lessons learned from the past with a focus on sustainability, monitoring and evaluation while continuing as funding allows for the design, development and delivery of standardised learning tools to be reachable by any public official, in any working conditions and location, in order to reduce barriers to accessing knowledge and to promote cooperation. The incumbent will work under the overall guidance of the Chief of the Justice Section (JS/DO) at UNODC HQ in Vienna and will report to the Global eLearning Programme Coordinator. The Consultant will be required to: i. Contribute to the overall production and implementation of the design, development, and production of eLearning modules. ii. Project management and execute the production of eLearning modules training content. iii. Coordinate with the consultant responsible for the production process to test the modules and implement improvements. iv. Edit and publish module content, including final review. v. Collaborate with other project management activities and implementation of innovative solutions as required. vi. Produce print material and publications, using relevant computer systems and software tools. Qualifications/special skillsAn advanced university degree (Masterโ€™s degree or equivalent) in a subject closely related/relevant to the development of eLearning modules (eg. Computer science, Design), is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional working experience in the field of animated design or production of eLearning modules, is required. Demonstrated experience in communication, innovation, and entrepreneurship, is desirable. Demonstrated communication skills, are desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English, with excellent drafting and communication skills, is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage. Additional InformationNot available.
