Result of Service- Prepare and deliver capacity building for PWID focal points in Malawi to promote harm reduction. - Deliver tailored trainings, based on developed training package on establishing and implementing OAT programmes for and with people who use drugs. Work Locationhome-based Expected duration3.6-31.12.2024 Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe consultant will deliver as the main trainer, together with UNODC staff and local experts, following activities: โ€ข Research, revision and comments for Malawi National Drug Control Policy โ€ข One three-day harm reduction training in Malawi โ€ข Prepare the teaching materials and adjust it if needed, and will do the pre- and post-training evaluation for the Malawi training โ€ข Six tailored national trainings on OAT โ€ข The consultant will support Section with preparation of relevant presentations, events and conferences Qualifications/special skillsโ€ข An advanced university degree (Masterโ€™s degree or equivalent) in public health, or in another relevant discipline is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. โ€ข A minimum of 10 years of experience in HIV/AIDS especially as it relates to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support services for people who use drugs is required. โ€ข Very good analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively, proven ability to produce reports and papers on HIV prevention, treatment, care and support services for people who use drugs is desirable. โ€ข Sound organizational skills, ability to work in a team context and collaborate with colleagues of different cultural backgrounds is required. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage. Additional InformationNot available.
