Background:
The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) adopts a comprehensive approach to security, addressing a wide array of concerns including arms control, confidence-building, human rights, economic and environmental issues, and counter-terrorism. This approach spans three key areas: politico-military, economic and environmental, and human dimensions. All 57 participating States of the OSCE have equal status, and decisions are made by consensus, although they are politically rather than legally binding.
The Conflict Prevention Centre (CPC) plays a key role in supporting and co-ordinating the OSCE's activities in the field, in providing analysis and policy advice to the Secretary General (SG) and the Chairpersonship, in leading work on all aspects of the conflict cycle, and in supporting the various formats dealing with protracted conflicts. The CPC also serves
as the focal point in the Secretariat for co-ordinating and developing the OSCE's role in the politico-military dimension.
The Regional Trial Monitoring Project, embedded in CPC/PSS, South Eastern Europe Desk, focuses on supporting a more effective administration of justice with regard to serious corruption and organized crime cases in the Western Balkans through trial monitoring. Objective of Assignment:
The project aims to enhance judicial systemsโ independence, quality and efficiency in tackling serious corruption and organized crime, and is being delivered in close partnership with โ and with the financial support of โ the European Commission.
The OSCE, capitalizing on its long-standing experience of trial monitoring in the region and building on ODIHRโs extensive trial monitoring toolkit, is uniquely placed to implement this initiative.

Necessary Qualifications:
First-level university degree in journalism, communications, political science, international affairs, or another related field;Post-graduate degree in one of above-mentioned disciplines preferred. The incumbent must demonstrate political judgement and analytical skills and must have the competence to convincingly present the activities and achievements of the Organization to media representatives and news agencies; to function in a deadline-driven environment; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds. Excellent knowledge of the OSCE and its areas of concentration is desired;At least six years of progressively responsible professional experience in media work and/or press/public relations work, digital strategy, preferably in an international organisation, non-governmental organisation (NGO) or as a journalist, combined with several years of experience with writing, editing and production of public information material. Have strong media relations across the Western Balkans, as well as familiarity with regional political, cultural and social contexts.Ability to identify and analyse problems and to propose solutions and contribute for delivering impactful campaigns. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, both orally and in writing in the English language, including proven editing skills, is passionate about narrative change, ensuring projectโs work cuts through and reaches the right audiences at the right moments;Strong project management experience, including leading national or regional media and/or communication projects or initiatives;Knowledge of IT functions and experience in utilising computers and software applications;Excellent spoken and written competence in English is essential, including the ability to revise and draft texts and for public presentations. Working knowledge in some of the Western Balkans local languages is an advantage;Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds;Ability to work independently and in a team and being transparent about progress, challenges and solutions. Ability to structure their own schedule and stay productive without direct supervision, consistently meets deadlines and delivers outputs on time, skill in balancing competing demands and focusing on high-impact tasks. Maintains clear and proactive communication with the team and being comfortable with remote collaboration tools.
Remuneration Package:
Remuneration will be based on the selected consultant's/expert's qualifications, experience, the tasks and deliverables for this position and in accordance with the OSCE established rates.
