Introduction
The Green Climate Fund is the worldโ€™s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund and invests in impactful, innovative, catalytic programs and projects in developing countries across the globe. Internship Assignment

The Intern will provide operational and administrative support to the โ€‹Department of Latin America and the Caribbean (DLAC)โ€‹. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experience by assisting with Team Support, Relationship Management, Readiness Support, and Direct Access Entities Support in Latin America and Caribbean - LAC. The Intern will report to the Subregional Lead for Latin America / and will also work closely with other relevant DCP staff.

Under the overall guidance of the Subregional Lead and within the โ€‹Department of Latin America and the Caribbean,โ€‹ the Intern is expected to:

  • Assists in administrative tasks (i.e. organizing meetings, preparing minutes and briefs for internal and external meetings) and the preparation of power point presentations and other materials related to the GCF work in the region.
  • Support the strengthening of dialogues, engagements and other relationship management activities with National Designated Authorities (NDAs) and Direct Access Entities (DAEs) in the LAC region;
  • Supports as required, with the tracking of the Readiness pipeline, including uploading of documents to GCFโ€™s internal file management systems and on the website in coordination with the communications team, and assisting in communications and s to governments (NDAs) and delivery partners;
  • Support in the gathering and analysis of country data, as required for matters related to strategy, pipeline and portfolio
  • Support the review of readiness proposals, concept notes, funding proposals, annual performance reports and other matters related to GCF activities in Latin America
  • Support the preparation and handling of diverse communications with NDAs, AEs and readiness delivery partners

    Requirements and qualifications

    • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Masterโ€™s or PhD program in public policy, sustainable development, climate change, or other related fields.
    • Knowledge and experience working with developing country governments is an advantage.
    • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of Spanish is an advantage for the position in the Latin America subregion.
    • Proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and Access. Experience in data management and analytical skills is needed.
    • Ability to deal with large volumes of work under time pressure with a high level of accuracy.
    • Ability to organize her/his work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimum direction.
    • Diplomacy and strong oral and written communications skills are essential.
