Who are we?

Danish Refugee Council (DRC) ranks as one of the best NGOs in the world, doing humanitarian work in 40 countries around the globe. DRC projects are often funded or co-funded through partnerships with private foundations. Our partnerships are growing in numbers and size, and we have ambitions to develop this further. The Institutional Donor team is responsible for strengthening DRCโ€™s capacity to establish, maintain and grow these partnerships and increase funding from these partners. Weโ€™re now looking for an intern interested in supporting us in the process.

About the Institutional Donor internship

You will join a dynamic team located in Copenhagen, Berlin, Brussels, Geneva, Kyiv and London, actively collaborating with teams across the organization. In this role, you will take on your own set of responsibilities while also contributing to critical support functions. Your internship with the Institutional Donor team will focus on the following main areas:

Coordination and roll out of the monthly donor updates. Coordinating the development of new business development tools. Help maintain and further develop internal communication sites and develop structures on internal workspaces Researching thematic trends across donors. Helping to organise meetings and appointments as well as produce and distribute minutes of meetings. Providing inputs and supporting the development of external products such as presentations. Provide administrative support Help maintain internal communication sites and develop structures on internal workspaces Organise meetings and produce and distribute meeting minutes Ad hoc support

Additionally, youโ€™ll have the opportunity to delve into various learning opportunities. We offer flexibility in the type of tasks, so you also have the possibility to influence your internship, subject to what is relevant to your study programme, experience, and interests.

About you

Required

Enrolled in a graduate level University degree in International Relations, Social Science, Political Science, International Development, Humanitarian Aid, or other relevant degree for the duration of the internship. Fluency in written and spoken English is required since you will be working with both Danish and international foundations. Danish proficiency is highly advantageous. Interest in learning more about working in an international NGO Have an interest in partnerships, fundraising, donor engagement, donor compliance and/or how NGOs fund their operations Be able to work independent and systematically with a good structure and a focus on high quality, solving tasks in your area of responsibility Have good interpersonal and communication skills in a multicultural environment Proficient user of Microsoft Office 365, Canva and/or other software.

Desired

Knowledge of international and humanitarian and development funding, and NGO fundraising/partnership engagement Working knowledge of written and spoken Danish, German or French. Layout/editing skills is an advantage

We offer

Contract length: six months subject to study requirements and further discussion.

Workplace: DRC Headquarters at Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen. Remote work is also an option upon agreement with supervisor.

Start date: Mid-January or start February, 2026 (flexible)

Working hours: Approximately 30 hours per week, subject to study requirements and further dialogue. We offer flexibility when you have study obligations.

The internship is unpaid. We offer:

Two unpaid - vacation days per month. The days can either be spent as you earn them or accumulated. Free lunch in our canteen (subject to our canteen being open)
