PROJECT BACKGROUND

GGGI has been appointed as the implementing agency for the โ€œEnabling Blue Carbon in Indonesiaโ€ project by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Enabling the blue carbon project will address gaps identified at the policy level in terms of a lack of data, research, and standard methodology for the inclusion of blue carbon ecosystems in Indonesiaโ€™s NDC. This position will support the integration of Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) considerations in the implementation of the Enabling Blue Carbon project by coordinating closely with the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (MoWE), the Ministry of Forestry (MoF), the Ministry of Environment (MoE), the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MAF), the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (MoASP), and other relevant stakeholders. This coordination aims to ensure that workshops, capacity-building initiatives, and policy dialogues include diverse participation, apply inclusive facilitation methods, and reflect gender-sensitive data needs.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a talented individual to collaborate with us on the Enabling Blue Carbon (EBC) project, particularly focusing on activities that promote GESI responsiveness within EBC, to provide operational support to the budget unit, specifically regarding the execution of daily activities within the budget unit.

The assignment will include the following but not limited to:

1. Stakeholder Engagement Support:

Assist in developing and maintaining communication with key stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, private parties, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals. Help prepare communication materials tailored for stakeholders, such as briefing notes, policy briefs, and reports where needed. Support the drafting and editing of key messages to be delivered during stakeholder meetings, presentations, and consultations.

2. Stakeholder Event Coordination & Communication:

Assist in the planning and execution of stakeholder events such as workshops, trainings, and focus group discussions. Coordinate logistical aspects of stakeholder events, including preparing event invitations, managing attendance, documenting the event, and preparing event write-ups. Flag GESI-relevant events, particularly in the blue carbon sector, that aim to enhance inclusion are marked, promoted, and integrated into project planning. Support the preparation of internal briefs and meetings, such as the weekly meeting.

3. Stakeholder Event Coordination & Communication:

Be enrolled in a Bachelorโ€™s (final year), Masterโ€™s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months. Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Instituteโ€™s work. Possess an excellent command of English.

QUALIFICATION
Education: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. Special consideration will be given to candidates with a focus on environmental communication, sustainability, or stakeholder engagement. Skills and Experience: Demonstrated interest in sustainability, climate change, gender and social studies. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in both English and Indonesian. Familiarity with stakeholder communication strategies and experience in engaging with diverse audiences. Proficiency in using communication tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and content creation platforms (Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar software). Experience managing online communication platforms. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Experience in event planning and coordination is an advantage. Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a diverse team. Strong attention to detail and ability to tailor communication to different audiences.

SELECTION PROCESS
Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. GGGI evaluates applications based on: eligibility requirements, relevance of academic study and work experience (if any); and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to development work. TEMRS AND CONDITIONS

Duration: The internship program is for at least six months. Once selected, interns must begin your internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.

Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD $500 per month (unless agreed to be funded by sponsoring institutions). All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns themselves or sponsoring institutions.

Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.

Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.

Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract.

Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.

Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.

Working Hours: interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly.

Learning Outcomes: before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.

Certificate: provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
