Background

The ICT team plays a crucial role in the Country Office (CO) as reliance on digital technology continues to increase in all office operations, projects, and programme deliveries. The team drives UNDPโs digital transformation efforts in the CO to better enable, leverage and deploy technology solutions that help the CO implement new ways of doing business to work smarter and more efficiently, and ultimately to improve the way it provides value to UNDP partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.

UNDPโs Country Office in Bangladesh supports other UN Agencies based in the UN Common Premises of IDB Bhavan. By hiring theย Electrical-cum-IT Helper, the UNDP will ensure the smooth provision of ICT support services to UNDP CO, projects and other UN agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
The key duties and responsibilities of the ICT-Clerk are listed below.
1. ICT Equipment Setup and Support
Assist in the relocation, movement, and connection of ICT hardware and cables (e.g., desktops, monitors, printers, IP phones). Perform basic cleaning and vacuuming of ICT equipment to maintain proper ventilation and cleanliness. Provide support in LAN cabling, network node setup, and troubleshooting physical connections. Assist in servicing of UPS devices, printer hardware, and office meeting room systems (e.g., projectors, conference audio setups). Support routine checks of server rooms, ensuring a clean, dust-free environment and well-maintained power/airflow infrastructure.2. Electrical Maintenance and Support
Support basic electrical wiring checks, minor repairs, and testing of voltage, amperage, and wattage as needed. Assist in replacing electrical accessories such as lights, plugs, sockets, and switches. Support basic electrical appliance maintenance and repair. Provide assistance in electrical setup for office workstations, ensuring safety and compliance with internal standards.3. Generator and Power Backup Support
Assist in routine cleaning and maintenance of the office generator. Support generator refueling, including fuel collection from designated service stations and safe fuel handling. Check generator charging systems and perform regular startup tests as part of preventive maintenance protocols. Support the supervisor for reporting issues or anomalies in generator performance or fuel use.The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Institutional Arrangement
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Head of ICT, the ICT-Clerk provides ICT and Electrical services to the ICT unit and provides daily technical support to users of information management tools and technology infrastructure. The ICT-Clerk promotes a client-oriented approach.

Secondary education is required.Experience:

Experience in UPS basic servicing. Experience in Electric Generator operation and servicing.ย Proven experience and ability to delivers optimal IT solutions within defined resource parameters. Experience/Knowledge in network (LAN/WAN) cabling, note installation. Proven ability to Correctly applies knowledge of specialized IT disciplines Excellent computer skills/experience and proficiency in spreadsheet and database applications. Experience in troubleshooting of hardware/software & telecommunications facilities. Proven Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office, Windows 10/11, Windows server background is desired. Previous experience in working at INGOโs and Development organization.ยRequired Language:
