What we are looking for:

We are looking for a highly experienced Humanitarian Access Adviser to lead and support humanitarian access initiatives in Yemen by developing strategies, tools, and workplans that enable NRCโ€™s operations in complex and constrained environments. It involves conducting detailed access analysis in collaboration with field staff to inform program design and implementation and integrating access considerations into program planning and reporting. The position supports training and capacity building on humanitarian access and negotiation, coordinates with Protection, Advocacy, and Security units, and contributes to NRCโ€™s regional and global access efforts by sharing best practices and lessons learned. It also plays a leadership role in inter-agency coordination, acting as INGO Co-chair of OCHAโ€™s Humanitarian Access Working Group (HAWG), supporting cross-agency collaboration, and contributing to international advocacy related to access issues.

What you will do:

Support access innovation initiatives, including development of strategies, workplan, tools and guidelines for management of NRCโ€™s access in Yemen Provide access analysis based on program operation demand and in consultation with field staffย  Provide area-based access analyses supporting operational implementation or program development, including recommendations on how to address issues as they arise Work with program units to ensure access elements are included in program design and reportingย  Identify training needs, and support or conduct training initiatives for field staff in Yemen for humanitarian access, including humanitarian principles, and negotiations Contribute to advocacy efforts related to access, in close coordination with the Protection and Advocacy Advisersย  Collaborate with Security to monitor, analyze and respond to overlapping access and security constraints and incidents Support NRC Global to refine and further develop and field test strategies, trainings, tools and guidance (access strategy and negotiations) Contribute to NRC regional and global access discussions, development of tools and strategies, and documentation and organizational learning through sharing lessons learned and best practices from Yemen CO Act as the INGO Co-chair of OCHAโ€™s Humanitarian Access Working Group (HAWG) and lead other INGO access initiatives and/or forums Ensure that linkages between access initiatives are established and maintained, particularly between the HAWG, the Advocacy Working Group, and the CDsโ€™ forum Collaborate closely with OCHA and any other data analysis units on key access issues that require monitoring and analysis Lead and coordinate as a platform for knowledge exchange within agencies in Yemen on access issues and solutions As requested, contribute to NRCโ€™s international advocacy efforts in relation to access and represent NRC in international fora related to access.

What you will bring:

Masters level education or related Fieldย  Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a Senior Project Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context.ย  Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts. Knowledge of the context in Yemen desirable. Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile with documented results related to the positionโ€™s responsibilities. Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable.

What we offer:
