Action Against Hunger USA is part of the Action Against Hunger International network. As an independent NGO, Action Against Hunger USA currently manages operations in 8 countries: Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia and Haiti.
About the Country Program in Zambia
Action Against Hunger has been operational in Zambia since 2021 implementing both development and humanitarian programmes through a multi-sectoral strategy where Nutrition, Health, Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH and Protection, Gender and psychosocial support are integrated to have a meaningful impact on people\u2019s resilience.
Purpose
Provide Human resources functions related to the Country Office
Key Activity Areas
\u00b7 Human Resource Planning, talent acquisition & management, staff onboarding for the country office in collaboration with the department heads.
\u00b7 Be a change champion for HR initiatives and projects in the country office
\u00b7 Responsible for employee relations and staff welfare at the country level.
\u00b7 Coordinate the assessment of staff periodical performance evaluation
\u00b7 Management of staff personnel files
\u00b7 Guide staff members on the interpretation of human resource policy provisions and other related policies
\u00b7 Coordinating staff development trainings
\u00b7 Manage staff medical insurance, health and wellness activities
\u00b7 Prepare HR reports for Senior Management Team (SMT)
Requirements
Required Qualifications and Professional Experience
\u00b7 Degree in Human Resource Management. Masters in human resources management is an added advantage
\u00b7 5 years of post-qualification experience is a must
\u00b7 Human Resource Information System (HRIS), Payroll softwares
\u00b7 Membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM)
\u00b7 Up to date with Zambian labour laws
Required Skills & Competencies
\u00b7 Excellent experience in report writing, donor rules and regulations,
\u00b7 Excellent writing and analytical skills
\u00b7 Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, under pressure and under tight deadlines
\u00b7 Capacity building and facilitation skills
\u00b7 Bi-lingual with excellent knowledge of English and any of the local language
\u00b7 Able to build effective working relationships at all levels.
\u00b7 Confidentiality, accountability, integrity and ability to handle sensitive situations
\u00b7 Initiative and ability to work independently and propose solutions to diverse problems.
\u00b7 Experience working in a team environment and building a team.
\u00b7 Active listener with good interpersonal skills
\u00b7 Demonstrated flexibility and or adaptability.
\u00b7 Excellent organizational and planning skills
\u00b7 Ability to work in a high-pressured environment and to multi-task

The duties of the job require regular job attendance at least five days per week. Must be available to work outside normal office hours or on the weekends as required. While performing the duties of this job in the field, the employee may be exposed to precarious settings under high security risks and/or very basic living conditions and outside weather conditions, as well as infectious diseases
