About this position:

The Human Resources Department (HRD) is responsible for the administration and development of the human capital of the IDB Group. The main functions of the department include managing the entire employee lifecycle, overseeing the implementation of the \"People Strategy\", and implementing programs and methodologies in direct support of IDBโ€™s results-based business model. The Compensation, Benefits and HR Services Division analyzes, designs, and administers compensation, payroll, and benefits programs for international and national staff assigned to Headquarters and the Country Offices. The organizationโ€™s Human Resources Services Center (HRSC), responsible for administration of key benefits program, also reports through this Division.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join the Compensation and Benefits Policies team of HRD. The position reports to and will work under the direction of the Team Leader for Compensation and Benefits Policies within the Compensation, Benefits and HR Services Division in HRD. The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical support for various programs and initiatives that contribute to the compensation, benefits, and rewards strategy of the Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDBG).

What youโ€™ll do:

  • Assist in the administration of the reward program. Coordinate and align practices within the participating departments, measure results, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Develop technical analyses and recommendations for compensation, benefits, and reward programs, participating in the development of white papers and written documents, and drafting presentations for Management consideration.
  • Partner with the members of the policies team to enhance data analytics capability through Power BI.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with the members of the policies team, sharing information, brainstorming, contributing to deliverables and performing quality reviews to ensure that the team meets and exceeds its collective work plan deliverables and objectives.

    What youโ€™ll need:

    • Education: bachelorโ€™s degree in human resources or any relevant field.
    • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of progressive work experience relevant to the duties and accountabilities of the position. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of compensation and benefits of policies and programs in organizations with international scope of operations.
    • Languages: Working professional proficiency in Spanish and English is required; knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is a plus.

      Key skills:

      • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and evaluative skills in tasks.
      • Strong presentation and writing skills are critical.
      • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Ms. Excel, Power BI, Word, and Outlook.)
      • Demonstrated collaboration, accountability and teamwork skills are required.
      • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team while under pressure.
      • Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
      • Ability to work with several different personality types and build affinity both virtually and in-person.

        Requirements:

        • Citizenship1: You must be a citizen of one of our 48-member countries, and a citizen or permanent resident of a country where the IDB has a Country Office.
        • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
        • Remote Modality: The selected candidate will not provide services from the Bankโ€™s office and will not be provided a physical space on the premises of the Bankโ€™s Country Office. The candidate selected will be responsible for setting up the space, and for having the equipment, internet, and phone accesses to accomplish these TORs, outside the Bankโ€™s office. Access to the Bankโ€™s systems will be arranged in coordination with the Bank.

          • Type of contract: National Consultant (National Remote Modality).
          • Length of contract: 12 months.
          • Work location: Remote.
