Organizational Setting

The offices deliver on the programmatic priorities of each country as agreed in their respective Country Programming Frameworks (CPFs) aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) and ensure effective and efficient operations with adequate human and financial resources.ย 

Specifically, FAO Country Offices:ย 
โ€ข ย  ย advocate, inform and support policies and investments in the areas of FAOโ€™s mandate;
โ€ข ย  ย provide technical assistance and deliver core services;ย 
โ€ข ย  ย  assist and catalyse partnership and resource mobilization activities to support agrifood systems transformation;ย 
โ€ข ย  ย position FAO as the specialized/authoritative technical agency in food and agriculture and agrifood systems transformation; andย 
โ€ข ย  ย ensure risk-smart and accountable operations and management. ย 

The position is located in the FAO Representation in Bangladesh and the incumbent will be based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Reporting Lines

This is an SC- 3 level position, and the incumbent will work under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative, direct supervision of the Assistant FAO Representative (Admin) and day to day close guidance of the Focal Point - HR Cluster of the representation and in close liaison with all other colleagues in the Representation and projects, the incumbent will carry out the following tasks:

Tasks and responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but not limited to the followings:

โ€ข Coordinate the overall hiring plan for hiring of national and international affiliate workforce.
โ€ข Develop and/or review Terms of Reference of affiliate workforce and ensure compliance with current standards and regulations.
โ€ข Coordinate and manage the publication of calls to attract candidates for vacancies related to national and international affiliate workforce, ensuring proper dissemination to attract qualified talent.
โ€ข Organize and facilitate the selection process, including coordinating interviews with the selection panel and preparing reports on evaluated candidates.
โ€ข Manage the complete cycle of contracts for national and international affiliate workforce in the Global Resource Management System (GRMS), ensuring the collection and verification of required documentation.
โ€ข Supervise the validity of contracts for national and international affiliate workforce in and take appropriate measures in coordination with supervisors for renewal or termination as necessary.
โ€ข Provide administrative support, including recording worked hours for the payment of fees to national and international consultants and other related tasks.
โ€ข Collaborate in implementing actions to promote a respectful and harmonious work environment, aligned with the organization's values and commitments.
โ€ข Facilitate knowledge exchange and best practices within the office, promoting collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
โ€ข Assist in the performance evaluation process of national and international consultants, providing logistical and administrative support for the preparation and recording of their performance evaluation reports (QAR).
โ€ข Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
โ€ข Perform other tasks as required.


CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements ย ย 
ย 
โ€ข ย  ย Minimum bachelorโ€™s degree in human resource management, business administration or any other related discipline preferably with an advanced training on HR management.
โ€ข ย  ย At least 03 years of demonstrated experiences in similar role.
โ€ข ย  ย Working knowledge of (level C) Englishย 
โ€ข ย  ย National of Bangladesh.

Technical/Functional Skills
