The Position:
The incumbent will focus on data analytics and modelling related to HR and operational processes across the region. Working under the direction of the Regional Office HR and Operations managers and in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, the incumbent will be a key team member responsible for delivering data dashboards, as well as environmental (market, political, financial, security) and internal UNFPA data analysis. This role will contribute to optimizing regional processes and shaping HR and business efficiencies through data-driven insights.
A work-plan with achievements for the duration of the internship and learning opportunities will be agreed upon. Periodic progress meetings will lead to a beneficial environment for the Intern enhancing their skills and capacity in areas related to UNFPAโs mandate.

As an integral part of a dynamic team, you would be a key driver of data-informed decision-making for HR and Operational processes throughout the region, with a strong focus on data analytics and modelling. Reporting to the Regional Office HR and Ops managers and working closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, this role is central to a team effort. This position will be instrumental in optimizing processes and enhancing the efficiency of HR functions across the region.
Key contributions will involve:
Leading the development and implementation of data analytics and modelling solutions for HR and operational processes. Designing, building, and maintaining data dashboards to develop and track key metrics and provide actionable insights. Gathering, cleaning, and analyzing environmental and internal UNFPA data to identify risks, opportunities, and trends. Actively participating in regional projects focused on HR reporting, records management, process mapping, analysis, and optimization, with a clear emphasis on data-driven improvements. Exploring and applying artificial intelligence (Google Gemini AI) and project management tools to enhance the sophistication and efficiency of data analysis and project execution. Supporting the integrity and accessibility of digital HR records. Providing support for administrative tasks within the Human Resources division, such as documenting processes, creating templates for data collection, and managing knowledge resources.General requirements to qualify for an internship with UNFPA:ย
All interns must meet the following educational and other eligibility requirements:
Educational requirements
a. Be enrolled in a first university degree programme (such as bachelorโs degree or equivalent) and have completed one full academic year;ย or
b. Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as masterโs programme or higher);ย or
c. Have recently graduated with a university degree as defined above and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation;ย or
d. Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee programme and undertake the internship as part of this programme.
Other eligibility requirements
e. Demonstrate interest in the field of development;
f. Demonstrate written and spoken proficiency in at least one of the working languages of the United Nations (English or French) and fluency in the official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish) of the UNFPA office; and
g. Demonstrate ability to adapt to new environments and to establish and maintain good working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.

Your Education:ย
University degree (first or advanced level) in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Behavioral Analytics, Information and Technology, Project Management, or related field.
Your Experiences:ย
Clear interest in human resources and/or business analytics in international development organization settings is required. Some experience in working with development agencies, including in volunteer capacity is an advantage.ย Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of other languages is an asset.ย Strong analytical and writing skills. Proficiency with full range of Google Tools and/or Power BI Dashboard Initiative, sound judgment and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members from different national and cultural backgrounds.Learning Elements:

Interns do not receive a salary or any other form of remuneration from UNFPA. The costs associated with an intern's participation in the programme must be assumed either by the nominating institution, which may provide the required financial assistance to its students, or by the students themselves, who will have to meet living expenses as well as make their own arrangements for accommodation, travel and other requirements. However, they receive a stipend to help cover basic daily expenses related to the internship, if not financially supported by any institution or programme, such as a university, government, foundation, or scholarship programme. The stipend for in-person internship based in Turkiye is USD 279.16 per month.ย
In addition, applicants must have medical insurance for the duration of the internship. Proof of insurance will need to be submitted before the internship begins. UNFPA does not provide medical insurance for interns.ย
