Mission and objectivesUNDP is the UN's global development network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. We are on the ground in some 170 countries and territories, working with them on their own solutions to global and national development challenges as they develop local capacity, they draw on the people of UNDP and our wide range of partners. UNDP is the lead agency for the Capacity for Disaster Reduction Initiative (CADRI) Partnership Secretariat. CADRI is a global partnership of 20 UN and non-UN organizations, leveraging complementary expertise across social, economic, and environmental sectors to strengthen countries' capacities for integrated disaster and climate risk reduction.

ContextOnline Volunteers will support the CADRI Partnership's mission to strengthen countries capacities to manage climate and disaster risk. They will work under the guidance of the CADRI Programme Coordinator, who works as part of the Disaster Risk Reduction Team at UNDP. Online Volunteers will be named and credited as the designer for all products developed. Once validated by the Government and published, these products can be showcased as part of the designers portfolio of work.

Task DescriptionWe are looking for 4 Online Volunteers who under the guidance of the Global Coordinator of the CADRI Secretariat will lead the design of official reports and communications for CADRI Partners, national Governments, and UN Country Teams. In particular, each Online Volunteer will be asked to complete one or more of the following activities: - Layout / design a 100 to 150-page Capacity Diagnosis Report for a selected country, utilizing existing report templates in InDesign and adhering to branding guidelines - Layout / design two 10 to 20-page Policymaker's Digests (summary documents) for a selected country, utilizing existing templates in InDesign and adhering to branding guidelines - Update / improve the design of the 2024 Annual Report, based on feedback on the first draft design
