Mission and objectivesThe United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism.
ContextUNV Tokyo Liaison Office (TLO) has collaborated with multiple Japanese partners to implement the full funding programmes that deploy talented Japanese nationals to different UN offices across the world for sustainable peace and development. Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is one of TLO's longstanding partners. TLO in collaboration with MOFA has long implemented a human resource development programme where young Japanese professionals enhance their knowledge and skills through UN Volunteer assignments to support UN organizationsโ activities for peace and development. As a part of the programme, TLO will publish volunteer stories in a form of a short report. This report will aim to improve the visibility of deployed Japanese UN Volunteers and amplify their voices through communication platforms such as publishing volunteer stories on UNV's and the partners' website.
Task DescriptionTLO is looking for an experienced and creative Online Volunteer(s) who will support our team in producing reports with volunteer voices to feature Japanese UN Volunteers' activities in their duty stations. Under the supervision of the Partnership Development Specialist at the UNV Tokyo Liaison Office (TLO), the Online Volunteer(s) will support in Graphic Design Task and another volunteer will support in language translation. - Be responsible for designing reports of MOFA-funded Japanese UN Volunteersโ stories in a two-pager layout so that their activities will be widely promoted through MOFA and UNVโs communication platforms. - Produce 2 or 3 reports by integrating texts of 4-5 volunteer stories, their pictures, and other visual elements each. - Translate the reports from English to Japanese.
