We help countries develop strong policies, skills, partnerships and institutions so they can sustain their progress The primary and overarching objective of United Nations Development Programme in Kenya is the eradication of poverty in the context of sustainable development, including the pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals, and promotion of United Nations fundamental principles. A core dimension to the work of UNDP in Kenya is on Democratic Governance given the national focus on governance reforms. UNDP supports the countryโs efforts towards achieving the Vision 2030 Political Pillar, which envisions a democratic system that is issue-based, people-centered, results oriented and accountable to the public. This Political Pillar gears to transform the countryโs political governance across five strategic areas; The Rule of Law, Electoral and Political Processes, Democracy and Public Service Delivery, Transparency and Accountability, Security Peace Building and Conflict Management. These strategic areas are anchored in the Constitution, promulgated in August 2010 marking a major milestone in the democratic journey of Kenya and set a new threshold in terms of people-centred development.
ContextThe United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Kenya supports the Government of Kenya in achieving sustainable development goals through inclusive and integrated approaches. In line with its mandate, UNDP Kenya is compiling a report that highlights achievements in key areas. To support this effort, online volunteers are being recruited for compilation, copy-editing, and graphic design tasks. In commemoration of International Youth Day (IYD) 2025, UNDP Kenya is curating a special edition compendium on โHarnessing the Demographic Dividend Through Youth Engagement in Kenya.โ The focus is on spotlighting powerful youth-led initiatives and contributions in governance, climate action, and digital transformation. Aligned with the global theme โ โEmpowering Youth: Building a Resilient Futureโ โ this campaign aims to amplify the voices, ideas, and innovations for and of young people shaping Kenyaโs sustainable and inclusive future. UNDP is seeking professionals to do graphics design for the copy edited and compiled draft compendium in line with UNDP Branding guidelines. The Volunteer will be instrumental in promoting youth engagement agenda, youth empowerment, and sustainable governance transformation.
Task DescriptionThe Online Volunteer will provide graphic design support to enhance the visual presentation of a compiled UNDP Kenya report. Tasks include: - Propose layout and visual design elements for the document. - Ensure branding consistency with UNDP guidelines. - Work with programme and communication staff to implement feedback. - Prepare a final, visually compelling and print-ready version of the report.
