Who are we?
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency pursuing our mandate to protect and promote durable solutions to displacement-affected populations based on humanitarian principles. Our response in the occupied Palestinian territory is centred on empowering conflict affected communities to meet their basic needs and promoting safety and dignity by addressing protection risks. Operating from two hubs in Deir al Balah and Gaza City, and with a coordination office in Ramallah and a representative office in East Jerusalem, the DRC maintains an active presence with over 30 national and international staff and four civil society partners. DRC now aims to grow our operation into a Country Office, as part of the Middle East Hub, which also comprises Tรผrkiye, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Jordan.
About the job
The Grants Management Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the grants management of oPt country portfolio in accordance with donor and DRC
regulations. This includes ensuring effective proposal development, donor compliance, timely reporting, and overall accountability to donors. The
position reports to the Head of Programme and collaborates closely with Support Services Managers, Technical Coordinators, and the Senior
Management Team on all grants-related matters, compliance, and partnerships
The overall purpose of the role is to:
โข Develop high quality funding proposals, compliance with donor and internal DRC rules and regulations, donor reporting, information management and grants management capacity-building efforts
โข Provide regular support and guidance to project cycle management, proposal development and program strategy and assist in advising and supporting field teams to ensure the successful implementation of all activities
This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to country operations while overseeing country activities.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect the following:
Grant Management & Reporting
โข Oversee and refine grants and contract management systems and processes
โข Update, streamline, and disseminate grants management tools and resources
โข Develop and maintain up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of donor and government policies and support implementing teams to ensure full compliance
โข Draft, review and provide support in the negotiation of project agreements, including sub-agreements, teaming agreements and memoranda of understanding
โข Organize and facilitate grant opening, review, and closing meetings
โข Lead donor reporting processes by coordinating, compiling, editing and providing feedback to ensure the development of high-quality narratives and timely submissions
โข Maintain and update DRCโs online Grants Management System (GMS) platforms
Proposal
โข Support the Head of Programmes to plan and coordinate the development of high-quality project proposals, including narratives, budgets, budget narratives, work plans, staffing lists, and other required annexes
โข Conduct regular donor mapping exercises and support the Head of Programmes in identifying new funding opportunities in line with the country programmeโs strategy
External
โข Prepare necessary documentation, such as reports, presentations and organizational documentation, to share with DRC stakeholders, including briefings for DRC staff and external entities requesting information on DRCโs programmes
โข Liaise with relevant stakeholders and consortium and partners when relevant
โข Serve as the primary focal point for donors and partners on all grants related issues
As Coordinator the post-holder is responsible for the following:
โข Responsible for coordinating strategy and operations within a specific discipline in a region or country
โข Usually has technical line responsibilities within a given discipline, for both strategy and operations
โข Provides expert advice and support to set strategy and assure operational quality and compliance
Carry out any additional duties as requested by the line manager to ensure effective delivery of the program and organizational objectives.
Experience and technical competencies:
โข Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in a similar position
โข Field experience
โข Working experience from an international humanitarian organisation
โข A good understanding of the procurement rules and regulations of major international donors
โข Experience working in an (I)NGO
โข Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Education:
โข Master's degree in political science, international development, economics or other relevant field
Languages:
