The Office of the Director General is comprised of the Department of Partnerships, Governance and Communications, the Department of Strategy and Global Initiatives, and the Department of Delivery. The Department of Partnerships, Governance and Communications (as of July 1) has three units: the Partnerships Unit, Governance Unit, and Communications and Knowledge-Sharing Unit. The ODG Division supports the Director General (DG) with partnerships, strategies, results, change management, communications, governance, and advisory services. The ODG Division is both internal facing, in that it supports GGGI as whole to fulfil its strategic vision, and external facing in that it supports the DG in developing and maintaining relationships with partners and mobilize resources. The ODG Division ensures the DG is effectively supported to play his role as the 'global voice' for green growth.
POSITION SUMMARY
The ODG Division, Department of Partnerships and Governance and Communications, is seeking a dynamic, team player and results-oriented Associate who reports to the Governance Lead. The Governance Associate is a key player of DPGC and is responsible for efficiently supporting the Governance Unit and Department of Partnerships, Governance and Communications in their work assisting the governing organs of GGGI and sub-national and non-state actor partnership platforms of the organization. The role also provides an opportunity for the Associate to gain exposure to high-level governance processes, international diplomacy, and multi-stakeholder engagement in a multilateral setting. The Associate will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth planning and execution of governance meetings, events, and communications. This includes in particular supporting the Advisory Committee, Assembly, Council, and additional partnership platforms by managing logistics, drafting official documents, liaising with diplomatic missions, and coordinating follow-up actions. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, international environment.
PURPOSE
The Governance Associate plays an important role in strengthening the effectiveness and inclusiveness of GGGIโs governance and partnership mechanisms, with a particular focus on non-state actors. Supporting the Governance Unit within the Department of Partnerships, Governance, and Communications (DPGC), the Associate contributes to the functioning of GGGIโs governing bodies and partner engagement platforms with non-state actors. The purpose of the role is to ensure that governance processes and partnership dialogues are well-coordinated, inclusive, and aligned with GGGIโs strategic objectives.
In addition to strong coordination and organizational abilities, the Associate is expected to demonstrate excellent proficiency in preparing well-structured, visually clear, and professionally formatted materials. This includes the ability to create high-quality PowerPoint presentations, annual reports, materials for donors, and communications content to support new donor engagement platforms. The Associate will ensure that all governance-related materials meet the highest standards of clarity, consistency, and visual appeal, contributing to the professional presentation of the work of the DPGC.
ENGAGEMENT
Support communication with working-level focal points of delegations of GGGI governing organs and the diplomatic community in Korea to support their participation in governance meetings, consultations, and diplomatic events. Support engagement with external working-level stakeholdersโincluding embassies, partner institutions, and non-state actorsโto follow up on action items, disseminate communications, etc. Collaborate with colleagues across the Office of the Director-General (ODG), including the Partnerships and Communications units, as well as regional and country teams, to prepare briefing materials and ensure smooth coordination of governance and external engagement activities. Work in close coordination with the Finance and Corporate Services Division, including IT, Events, and Protocol teams, to manage logistical and technical arrangements for virtual, hybrid, and in-person meetings.
DELIVERY
Support the Governance Lead in providing secretariat, administrative, and communication support to Advisory Committee members, including organizing meetings, compiling inputs, drafting background notes, and facilitating briefings. Draft, format, and prepare meeting documents and communications materialsโincluding agendas, background notes, summary records, decisions, presentations, PowerPoints, and reportsโensuring clarity, consistency, and visual quality. Coordinate content updates and maintain digital platforms related to governance and donor engagement, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with GGGI branding. Coordinate meeting arrangements with embassies and external stakeholders, including organizing luncheons, dinners, and official events; support event logistics end-to-end, including travel arrangements when necessary, and prepare talking points or briefing materials for senior leadership as needed. Coordinate internally to schedule meetings, reserve meeting rooms, and ensure timely follow-up, including drafting and circulating meeting summaries. Track, archive, and publish governance-related documents and decisions in accordance with GGGIโs Disclosure Policy, supporting transparency and institutional memory. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Governance Lead, contributing to the successful delivery of the Unitโs goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelorโs degree in business administration, international relations and/or development, or other related disciplines related to the role. 3-4 years of professional experience in a relevant sector with a public or private sector organization(s). Experience engaging with high-level delegates in accordance with diplomatic protocols. Fluency in written and spoken English is a must; knowledge of another relevant language (especially Korean) is an asset. High level of proficiency in MS Office applications.
