    ABOUT THE ROLE

    The Transparency International Secretariat is currently seeking a Global Advocacy Coordinator (m/f/d) to join the Policy and Advocacy Team to support TI policy and advocacy engagement at the global level, in coordination with TI national chapters and partners.ย 

    The purpose of this role is to enhance the ability of Transparency International to bring about policy change by promoting sound and evidence-based policy and advocacy; advancing and delivering Transparency Internationalโ€™s strategic advocacy goalsย set in TIโ€™s Global Strategy 2030 - Holding Power to Account by coordinating high profile initiatives; and contributing to the strategic alignment of global policy and advocacy with relevant functions.

    In particular, the Global Advocacy Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of advocacy initiatives under a new project: ECHO: Enhancing Civil Society Capacities to Shape Policies and Hold Power to Account. The project will contribute to strengthening the capacities of TI and its national chapters for coordinated actions to address anti-corruption, transparency and accountability issues at global and regional levels.

    Role Purpose: The Global Advocacy Coordinator (m/f/d) supports TI policy and advocacy engagement at the global level, in coordination with TI national chapters and partners.

    Salary Band: ย salary according to TI-S internal salary structure; for this position corresponding to band PF2 a salary starting EUR 42,000.00 gross per year depending on relevant experience

    Starting Date: as soon as possible

    Contract Duration: Currently we can offer an employment contract limited for a duration of 2 years. There is a prospect of extension subject to organisational need, performance proven and funding confirmed and there is interest in a stable and long-term cooperation.

    MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

    Reporting to the Head of Policy and Advocacy, the Global Advocacy Coordinator (m/f/d) will:ย 

  • Develop and implement a global advocacy strategy for the TI Secretariat and the TI Network in line with the Strategy 2030 and the objectives set by TI-S policy leads
Identify/create advocacy opportunities, and implement advocacy actions directed at influencing governments, intergovernmental organisations, the private sector and anti-corruption bodies and experts Coordinate TI policy/advocacy engagement with international institutions and spaces including G20, G7, OECD, IMF, UN, World Bank and Open Government Partnership, to further TI strategic priorities, while ensuring coherence and coordination with TI Secretariat colleagues, TI national chapters and external partners Build and strengthen relationships and establish alliances with external counterparts, communities of practice and stakeholders; establish and maintain effective working relationships with key partners and interlocutors, including NGOs, governments, intergovernmental organisations, anti-corruption bodies and experts, journalists and funders Arrange side events at different global and regional fora and organise policy dialogues at regional and global levels Represent the organisation at relevant fora and design and guide the coordination of participation of partners and stakeholders; promote TI key advocacy priorities in relevant for a by communicating TI's positions and messaging to external and internal audiences Support the identification of opportunities and emerging areas of policy work and coordinate strategic response from TI-S and national chapters Engage with and provide support to Policy Leads and TI Chapters in influencing policy makers through direct engagement at national, regional and global levels Provide input and advice to TI-S colleagues on global advocacy and help building the capacity of national chapters; stay abreast of trends, updating strategies accordingly Scope speaking and influencing opportunities for Policy Leads and, when relevant, national chapters Support the Communications team in developing key messages and coordinate delivery of key messages around important international days and events, including the launch of the Corruption Perceptions Index. Design and oversee the coordination of institutional events/launches including the preparation of documentation before and after events; assist with the planning, preparation and conduct of TI-S events Design, research, draft, edit original materials, and utilise these materials for the development of relevant outputs; contribute to communications activities, including through social media, blog posts, emails, website curation, and media statements and interviews Establish and/or nurture spaces for exchange and dialogues within the TI Movement and with external partners Generate ideas and develop concept notes/proposals to support the financial sustainability of thematic areas aligned with organisational priorities; assist in the preparation and submission of funding proposals and preparing and reporting against project and program-based budgets Support the development of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning frameworks to embed effective use of learning across TI-S; coordinate global advocacy impact tracking for Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Contribute to the overall functioning of the team by providing proactive and ad hoc support where necessary

University degree and/or professional qualification in social science, public policy or administration, journalism, international law, economics, management, or other relevant fields 5+ years of relevant professional experience preferably in the fields of policy and advocacy or related, with a demonstrated capacity to build and maintain relationships with a large network Expertise in anti-corruption, governance, human rights, and/or democracy required Experience in designing, coordinating and facilitating panels, workshops, policy dialogues and events to further strategic goals Demonstrable experience in engaging with global and regional fora and multilateral organisations e,g. G20, UN, Specialised UN agencies, AU, ASEAN, OAS, IMF, World Bank, Regional Development Banks, OECD, EU, BRICS Experience in identifying and creating advocacy opportunities Ability to engage with high-level policy makers, government officials and CSOs Experience and comfortable with public speaking and media engagements Proven ability to provide concise, strategic advocacy briefings Self-organiser with ability to prioritise amid competing and changing demands Flexible strategist able to swiftly adapt approaches based on latest intelligence and changes in context, while ensuring alignment and coordination with partners and colleagues Sound knowledge and experience of incorporating MEL in advocacy strategy and outcome harvesting Excellent communication skills in English required; additional languages, in particular French and/or Spanish, an asset High level of intercultural competence, diplomacy and political sensitivity Willingness to travel essential
