Mission and objectivesEnabling Rural Opportunity Network (ERONet), formerly Agoro Community Development Association (ACDA), is a women-centered, community-based organization in Northern Uganda near the South Sudan border. Established in 2001, ERONet empowers marginalized communities through inclusive, sustainable programs that advance education, health, livelihoods, and resilience. Under its Education and Development Goal, ERONet enhances access to quality primary and secondary education for adolescent girls, adolescent mothers, and school dropouts. The organization rehabilitates school facilities, provides bursaries, promotes life skills and vocational training, and challenges harmful gender norms that limit girlsโ educational opportunities. Through these initiatives, ERONet is improving school retention, building safe learning environments, and creating self-employment pathways for vulnerable adolescent girls and young mothers.
ContextDespite notable progress, many adolescent girls and young mothers in Northern Uganda continue to face barriers to education due to poverty, gender-based discrimination, and inadequate infrastructure. To address these challenges, ERONet seeks the support of an online fundraising volunteer to strengthen the organizationโs resource mobilization for education programs. The volunteer will identify donor opportunities, develop compelling proposals, and contribute to ERONetโs broader fundraising and communication strategies. This role directly supports SDG 4: Quality Education, enabling ERONet to expand its reach and impact on girlsโ education and empowerment.
Task DescriptionERONet is seeking a dedicated volunteer to support fundraising and proposal development under its Education and Development thematic area. The volunteer will contribute to the design of high-quality project proposals and strengthen donor relations. Key Responsibilities: Research and identify grant opportunities and potential education-sector donors. Draft and edit compelling project proposals and concept notes. Ensure proposals align with ERONetโs mission, strategy, and community priorities. Support internal coordination and information sharing within ERONet teams. Provide strategic guidance on donor engagement and reporting best practices. Participate in periodic virtual meetings for collaboration and progress updates.
