Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract. Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.
ย Context Under the overall supervision of the Head of Resource Management and direct supervision of the National Finance Officer (NFO), the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the following functions
- Review daily self-payer revenue records and perform accounts receivable (AR) billing and related transactions. ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย
- Respond to accounting, budget or financial queries regarding data from staff in the unit and elsewhere.ย
- Review all types of payments starting from purchase to payment requests verifying that they are duly authorized, and all the supporting documents are attached therewith.ย
- Perform claim verifications against documentation to ensure that purchases/services are properly authorized and that the goods have been received or services rendered.ย
- Assist in the preparation of budget, accounting, financial, statistical reports and other reports as required.
- ย Provide assistance to all staff services such as travel, expense claims, document retrieval, etc.ย
- Performance of bank reconciliations of main and field office bank accounts. Education
- Bachelorโs degree in business administration, Accounting, Finances, or related discipline from an accredited academic institution with two (02) year of professional experience in the sphere of Finance & accounting or similar field, or;ย
- Minimum four (04) years of related work experience with a Diploma in the above fields.
- Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Previous experience in using SAP/Oracle is a distinct advantage.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. Skills
