The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basic accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity. JOB DESCRIPTION IUCN is an international organization and manages its staff in a professional manner to international standards. The purpose of this position is to provide IUCN Lao PDR with the finance support to ensure its effective operation.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Finance Assistant will provide support for Finance and Accounting functions within IUCN Lao PDR Country Office and will report directly to the Finance Officer.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
The positionโs responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1 Accounting:
โข Handle the daily petty cash and bank transactions
โข Delivery document to banks when required.
โข Assist in checking and classifying supporting documents, preparing necessary journal entries and posting into ERP/NAV system.
โข Assist in checking the expenditure report from grantees and partners
โข Assist in following up pending payments/contracts with relevant staff
โข Assist in filing all accounting vouchers
.2 Payroll, Social Security, Tax:
โข Assist in tax filing and returning under prevailing law with Tax Department.
โข Assist the payment and reconciliation of staffโs Social Security.
3 Inter-office count:
โข Assist in monthly reconciliation.
โข Assist in preparing debit/credit notes which will be sent to relevant IUCN offices.
โข Filing DN and CN.
4 Other Duties:
โข Undertake any other tasks assigned by the line manager REQUIREMENTS โข Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, or Business Administration. Finance and/or Accounting with previous experiences is an advantage.
โข 2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role preferred
โข Proficient in MS Excel and experience working with ERP systems
โข Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
โข Good communication and interpersonal skills
โข Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
โข Flexibility to perform other tasks as required by IUCN Country Office APPLICATIONS
