Field Organizer (Adv#106/2025)

icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute that strives to solve key public health problems through high-quality scientific research and innovation. icddrb as a value-based organization encourages women and people with disabilities.

The Program for HIV and AIDS under the Health System and Population Studies Division (HSPSD) at icddr,b provides good quality HIV prevention services to key populations at risk of HIV infection since 2010. This has been made possible by working with the Government of Bangladesh (GoB), donors, NGOs and CBOs. Recently, the Program for HIV and AIDS has taken several initiatives to reach hard-to-reach community groups with an innovative service delivery approach.

Key responsibilities

The Field Organizer will report to the Senior M&E Officer, work as a community paralegal, and be responsible for monitoring legal and human rights issues of key populations (KPs), assisting in getting access to legal support for KPs, and maintaining the organizational values and guidelines. S/he will be involved in:

Conduct legal literacy sessions (know your rights) among Key populations in the assigned field sites; Provide human rights and legal rights education sessions to Key populations in the assigned field sites; Linking victims and key populations of human rights violations to respective facilities for relevant services; Linking Key populations to the lawyer group for legal support; Follow up with referred clients regularly; Document and report human rights violations/gender-based violence cases to the respective CLM data collectors, DIC manager/sub-DIC in charge, and senior M&E officer. Assist CLM data collectors and the DIC Manager/Sub DIC in charge in writing monthly reports; Attend training sessions on legal rights, human rights, and gender-based violence.

Required qualification and experience:

HSC pass or equivalent. Education qualifications may be relaxed for Key Populations (MSM/MSW/Hijra); At least 1 year of experience in any health-related/social development-related project/ programs; Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with key populations at risk of HIV and AIDS at the field level or who belong to the community (MSM, MSW, Hijra).

Contract Type and Duration:

CSA basis for 3 months with a possibility of extension subject to the availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

Tk/-14,870per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances; Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
