Field Coordinator

Overview The Field Coordinator will ensure that actions are properly implemented and monitored, if necessary, redefining project organization, management and monitoring procedures.

Duties and responsibilities

Summary of responsibilities

1. Ensure community mobilization and involvement of local stakeholders.

2. Monitor the management and restoration of forest and agroforestry resources.

3. Train and support communities in sustainable natural resource use practices.

4. Support data collection and impact monitoring and evaluation.

5. Raise community awareness of the objectives and benefits of the GMV project.

6. Identify and collaborate with local leaders, farmers' organizations, and women's and youth groups.

7. Ensure the active participation of communities in land management and restoration activities,

8. Build the capacity of communal actors on seedling production in rural resource centers (RRCs),

9. Support sustainable forest resource management activities, including the development of participatory management plans.

10. Support local land governance initiatives to reduce land-use conflicts.

11. Organize capacity-building workshops for target groups.

12. Coordinate the field team for proper data collection on field activities.

13. Contribute to periodic reporting and evaluation of progress.

14. Participate in resource mobilization.

Education, knowledge and experience • PhD or master's degree in Agroforestry or in the fields of natural resource management, climate change or related field,
• Minimum 5 years' experience in the implementation of development projects;
• Good oral/written communication skills and professional knowledge of English.

• Experience in implementing projects/programs covering the Kayes and Nioro regions is an asset,
• Experience in training and capacity building in agroforestry;
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate and support large, culturally diverse groups of adults, as well as experience in providing innovative technical support and designing effective approaches to adult learning.

Terms and conditions • This is a Locally Recruited position. CIFOR-ICRAF offers competitive remuneration in local currency commensurate with skills and experience.
• The duty station will be in Kayes/Nioro, Mali CIFOR-ICRAF Offices
