The program of Enteric and Respiratory Infections under the Infectious Diseases Division conduct research under vaccine trial unit in multiple vaccine studies like RSV, Polio, HEV, Flu, Nipah vaccine etc. This program is to achieve icddr,b goal for controlling enteric and respiratory infections, detecting and controlling emerging and re-emerging infections with the collaboration of the relevant government and non-government stakeholders.

Brief Description of Position:

The Female Field Worker will report to the Field Research Assistant and will be responsible for identifying respondents and collecting data with the objective of supporting research studies within the guidelines of project-specific field research procedures and organizational values and guidelines. S/he will be involved in -

Obtain preliminary consent and invite to participate in the study; Search participants through house visit; Motivate Mothers to participate in the study; Bring study participants to the study site; Collect stool specimens and carry samples to Matlab Hospital; Accompany study participants from home to sub-centre/fixed site clinic/Matlab; Work with Medical Officers/Field Research Officers to enrol study participants; Extend support to different research studies.

Required qualification and experience:

SSC or equivalent passed; 1 year of experience in field research; Should be energetic with good interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively and independently pressure. Good knowledge of the research fieldwork; The incumbent should have the ability to solve day-to-day problems in the community. Good writing and speaking knowledge in Bangla and English; Must be a permanent resident in the icddr,b service area in Block – E, F & G with valid CID and RID; Candidate should mention their valid CID and RID during application.

Block - E: Bazarkhola, Kirtonkhola, Banuakandi, Harina Bazarkhola, Khalisha, Nayanagar, Saidkharkandi, Mollakandi, Durgapur, Galimkha, Kanachak, Bakchar, Silinda, Tulatali, Gangkanda, Harina Bhabanipur, Baluchar, Kawadi, Nayachar, Thatalia, Sobahan, Khamarpara, Sadhadia, Ketundi, Mukundi, Chosoi, Soladana, Pitambordi, Daribond, Narinda, Dhonagoda, Santoshpur, Baluakandi, Taltali, Sree Rayerchar and Rayerkandi.

Block – F: Uddamdi, Mandertali, Sepoykandi, Thatalia, Char Harigope, Baishpur, Kadamtali, Nilokhi, Char Nilokhi, Char Pathalia, Gazipur, Fatepur, Nayakandi, Goalbar, Naburkandi, Enayet Nagar and Ludhua.

Block – G: Charmasua, Sarderkandi, Sankibanga, Sankibanga Namapara, Zahirabad, Maizkandi, Hazipur, Tapaderpara, Sakhari Para, Nayakandi, Bara Haldia, Bakharpur, Induriakandi, Choto Haldia, Baluchar, North Rampur, South Rampur, Ramdaspur, Thakurpara, Sarkerpara, Mirpur, Farazikandi.

Contract Type and duration:

CSA basis for 6 (six) months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

Tk. 15,480/- per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances; Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
