BISA is looking for an outstanding, self-motivated, and result-oriented professional for the position of Farm Operations Assistant. The position is responsible for managing farm operations, seed production processes, inventory, procurement activities, financial compliance, and administrative coordination to ensure smooth functioning of the BISA Research Station and associated units.
The location of this position will be Jabalpur, M.P.
Responsibilities & Activities
1. Inventory & Stock Management
Manage and maintain the Stock Register of consumables using the FIFO (First-In-First-Out) method. Maintain proper records of inventory, consumables, and standing crops. Prepare valuations for seeds, consumables, and crops in the field.2. Farm Operations & Documentation
Monitor and control farm operations including recording of activities, issuance of indents, PR (Purchase Requisition), GRN (Goods Receipt Note), SRN (Stock Return Note), and gate passes. Follow proper procedures for procurement and disposal of farm produce. Maintain and update the production register documenting all production activities.3. Seed Production & Processing
Prepare and maintain accurate records for seed processing, covering raw production to final processed seed. Manage and maintain the Seed Production Unit, ensuring compliance with quality standards. Prepare and maintain the sales register for seeds and/or grains sold during the year.4. Vendor & Financial Coordination
Oversee vendor management, ensuring timely submission and settlement of bills and invoices. Ensure adherence to all financial, administrative, HR, and procurement guidelines as per organizational policies. Coordinate with Finance as needed for documentation, clarifications, and settlement processes.5. Facility & Asset Management
Manage the BISA Training Hostel, ensuring compliance with insurance, safety standards, and operational requirements. Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring proper tagging and documentation of all fixed assets. Ensure proper maintenance and functioning of farm equipment, tools, and facilities.6. Systems & Software Management
Maintain manual records and operate ERP systems such as SAP / D365 as applicable. Generate accurate reports and ensure timely submission of data to relevant teams.7. Additional Responsibilities
Requirements
Bachelor\u2019s degree in agriculture / Agribusiness, or related field/ Proficiency in ERP systems (D365) Minimum 3 years of experience in farm operations, seed production/processing, or agribusiness. Hands-on use of ERP systems (preferably Microsoft D365) for inventory or operations management. Practical experience in inventory handling, stock management, and warehouse/seed unit coordination. Strong knowledge of farm operations, seed processing, and inventory management.Strong communication and coordination experience with vendors, farmers, or field teams.Hands on basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Benefits
The position is for an initial fixed-term contract of 12 months, after which further employment is subject to performance and the continued availability of funds. BISA offers an attractive remuneration package, with a range of benefits including health insurance.
