Make a Real Impact Where It Matters Most

This isnโ€™t just another family support role โ€” at 54 reasons, youโ€™ll be part of a purpose-driven team thatโ€™s deeply embedded in the Gippsland community, working across Moe, Morwell and Traralgon to support families during their most vulnerable moments. What sets this role apart is the opportunity to work holistically with families from diverse backgrounds, including CALD and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, using trauma-informed, culturally respectful approaches that truly make a difference.

Your expertise in child development, your ability to build trust, and your strong organisational skills will empower families to thrive.

With us, youโ€™ll do more than deliver services โ€” youโ€™ll help shape futures. If youโ€™re passionate about early childhood and family wellbeing, and ready to bring your knowledge, empathy and drive to a team that values inclusion, growth and connection, weโ€™d love to hear from you.

54 reasons is Australiaโ€™s leading child rights organisation โ€“ no ordinary not-for-profit.

Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, weโ€™re here to make sure that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.

With the childโ€™s voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities. From our programs to our support services - this is the place to realise your purpose.

A place to make a difference:

In this part-time, maximum term role (3 days per week for 12 months, with potential for extension), youโ€™ll support families across the region. Based in either Moe, Morwell or Traralgon (and required to travel to all these sites), youโ€™ll report to our Team Leader, Gippsland.

You will make a difference by:

Building family capacity by using partnership, outcomes based, strengthsโ€™ perspective and client-centred approaches Identifying where additional assistance and external services are required Collaborating with team members to deliver programs and support services, promoting positive and culturally respectful approaches to parenting, and child and family wellbeing Providing case management, delivering support to vulnerable and disadvantaged families Collecting and recording data and information for the purpose of accountability, evaluation, and reporting

A place to feel valued:

Youโ€™re a dedicated family support practitioner with a strong foundation in early childhood development. Your passion for working with children and families drives your commitment to making a meaningful difference in their lives. With deep expertise, cultural sensitivity, and strong community connections, you build trusting relationships with families from diverse backgrounds. Your knowledge and empathy are key assets in delivering impactful family support and early childhood programs. Always eager to learn and ready to dive in, you bring energy and initiative to every challenge, helping ensure our programs thrive and truly support those who need them most.
