Responsibilities

ENV is recruiting a Knowledge & Learning Specialist (ETC2) to support and co-lead on its knowledge agenda. ETC2 will work closely with the ENV Sr. Knowledge and Learning Officer to lead on components of the ENV Learning and Knowledge program. This includes strategic input into planning, implementation, and quality assurance for knowledge and learning initiatives across ENV programs and trust funds .

โ€ข Co-Lead the design and implementation of ENV knowledge portals and learning tools. Spearhead the conceptualization, development, and deployment of digital platforms and interactive learning tools that support knowledge sharing and capacity building across the Environment Department. Ensure these resources are user-centric, scalable, and aligned with departmental priorities and global environmental goals.

โ€ข Develop and manage knowledge products and dissemination strategies
Oversee the creation of high-quality knowledge products and design targeted dissemination strategies to maximize their reach and impact among internal teams, regional units, and external stakeholders.

โ€ข Coordinate with ENV teams and external partners to align KM efforts
Facilitate collaboration across ENV units and with partners such as IFC, MIGA, and regional teams to ensure knowledge management activities are harmonized, demand-driven, and responsive to evolving needs. Promote synergies between internal expertise and external innovations.

โ€ข Provide technical input into KM planning for large-scale externally facing knowledge platforms Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of KM components within the Pollution Control and Prevention (PCB) Program and other key initiatives. Offer guidance on content development, learning pathways, and performance metrics to enhance program effectiveness.

โ€ข Advise on adaptive learning approaches and feedback loops
Promote the use of adaptive learning methodologies that incorporate real-time feedback, iterative improvements, and evidence-based decision-making. Guide teams in embedding learning loops into project cycles to foster continuous improvement and organizational learning.

โ€ข Manage learning events for different teams in Environment Department
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of learning events featuring internal and external speakers. Ensure events are engaging, well-organized, and aligned with strategic learning objectives across WBG and partner organizations.

Selection Criteria

โ€ข Masterโ€™s degree or equivalent, minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
โ€ข Ability to develop, analyze, and articulate project issues and work in multi-disciplinary teams
โ€ข Ability to diagnose problems and propose reliable solutions.
โ€ข Proven ability to lead KM initiatives and collaborate across teams.
โ€ข Experience with knowledge design, content strategy, and stakeholder engagement. Experience in developing large-scale technical sector platforms strongly preferred.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to utilize generative AI tools and other AI applications to streamline tasks, conduct research, and enhance productivity and creativity.
โ€ข Experience with online conference technologies including WebEx, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom, required.
โ€ข Experience with interactive data and knowledge dashboards used at the World Bank including GIS, Adobe Illustrator, Tableau, PowerBI is desirable and strong expertise with using the Microsoft Office suite of products is a must.
โ€ข Strong writing and editing skills in English.
โ€ข Ability to self-manage, multitask, work under pressure. Flexibility is required to meet a constraining schedule due to the nature of knowledge and learning activities.
โ€ข Problem solving, ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, concise manner, instructional design skills.
