IOMโs Regional Office for the East, Horn and Southern Africa oversees, plans, coordinates and supports IOM activities within the region. Through a team of specialists, the Regional office is responsible for project review and endorsement and provides technical support to Country Offices in the region which include Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, ย Republic of Mauritius (also covering Seychelles), Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, ย Zambia and Zimbabwe particularly in the area of project development, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, resource mobilization, resource management, liaison coordination with regional and sub-regional governments, United Nations agencies and other key partners.ย
Underย theย overallย supervisionย ofย Regional Health Assessment Program Coordinator (RHAPC), and the direct supervision of the Regional Migration Heath Nurse Coordinator, and under the technical supervision of the Regional TB Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical, administrative support related to TB management activities in the region
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship on TB management activities to TB focal nurses in country missions, in coordination with the Regional TB Officer and Chief Migration Health Officers (CMHOs).ย
- Monitor and support adherence to TB-related processes including counselling, DOT implementation, follow-up mechanisms, and accurate documentation, ensuring compliance with donor country requirements and IOM guidelines.ย
- Assist in the rollout and compliance monitoring of IOM TB management protocols and SOPs, including guide CO in developing of country-specific TB SOPs when needed.ย
- Assist the Regional Migration Health Nurse in the development, rollout, and regional harmonization of IPC protocols, and support country teams in adapting IPC measures to their local context.
- Conduct training, mentorship, and remote/on-site support to TB focal nurses and clinical staff on TB classification, management, documentation, IPC, and quality assurance.
- Provide assistance to TB focal points in implementing standardized TB checklists and job aids and ensure routine use of quality tools across missions.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including internal assessments, checklists, and field visits to evaluate TB-related nursing performance and recommend corrective actions as needed in coordination with CMHOs,Regional Migration Health Nurse and Regional TB Officer.
- Promote the consistent use of the TB Workup and Treatment module in MiMOSA and support field missions in maintaining accurate and complete TB records.
- Assist the Regional TB Officer in organizing and facilitating regional workshops, webinars, and training events on TB-related topics.
- Maintain collaborate relationship with mission-level TB focal point, CMHOs,panel physicians, Laboratory, Radiology team, national TB programs and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of TB management and protocol implementation.
- Support the analysis and reporting of regional TB indicators and contribute to data collection for regular monitoring and donor reporting.
- Support the documentation and development of TB-related health education and counselling materials in coordination with country teams.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Education- Masterโs degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; OR,
- Bachelors degree in Nursing with four years of relevant professional experience.
- A valid license to practice nursing in the country of duty station, if applicable Accredited Universities are those listed in theย UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Clinical experience as a registered Nurse; ย
- Experience in TB programmes, migration health, disease control, and public health of refugees and migrants as Nurse in an international organization, UN agency or hospital;ย
- Good writing, communication and negotiation skills;ย
- Good knowledge of nursing principles, techniques and procedures: knowledge of public health as well as general migration related issues;ย
- Demonstrated ability to maintain detail, accuracy and confidentiality at all levels of the health assessment process;ย
- Good level of computer literacy;ย
- Knowledge of specialized medical software is required. Knowledge of eMedical and Mimosa Web is an advantage.ย Skills
- Good knowledge of nursing principles, techniques and procedures: knowledge of public health as well as general migration related issues;
- Demonstrated ability to maintain detail, accuracy and confidentiality at all levels of the health assessment process;
