Under the overall supervision of the Chief Migration Health Officer (CMHO) and the direct supervision of the Senior Migration Health Nurse, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities in relation to the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Harare, Zimbabwe.

  1. Perform daily nursing activities in the Migration Health Assessment Clinic (MHAC) to fulfil the technical requirements of the resettlement countries in the areas of:
    1. Medical examinations,
      1. Such as checking vital signs, weight, height, visual acuity;ย 
      2. Blood, urine or sputum collection as required;
        1. Imaging;
        2. Laboratory testing;
        3. Vaccinations;
        4. TB management;
        5. Treatment and referrals;
        6. Pre-departure procedures and medical movements;
        7. Documentation, certification and information transmission; and,
        8. Other technical areas as may be required.
        9. Provide information and detailed explanations to the migrants and/or refugees in relation to:
        10. Managing and sharing knowledge: Continuously seeks to learn, share knowledge and innovate.
      3. Accountability: Takes ownership for achieving the Organizationโ€™s priorities and assumes responsibility for own actions and delegated work.
    2. Communication: Encourages and contributes to clear and open communication. Explains complex matters in an informative, inspiring and motivational way. Notes

  2. This selection process may be used to staff similar positions in various duty stations. Recommended candidates will remain eligible to be appointed in a similar position for a period of 24 months.
