The Enterprise Architecture Specialist, reporting to the Principal Software Architect, supports the design, integration, and governance of the organizationโ€™s technology landscape to ensure alignment with business goals and climate-focused initiatives. By helping drive the adoption of scalable, secure, and innovative enterprise solutionsโ€”whether developed internally or procured externallyโ€”you will play a vital role in optimizing IT resources, enabling digital transformation, and contributing to the global fight against climate change.

Purpose

  • Anticipate the Fundโ€™s evolving technology and data architecture requirements by looking two to three years ahead, establishing forward-looking strategies that balance innovation with organizational objectives in advancing climate resilience and sustainability.
  • Continuously research emerging technologies and industry trends to identify high-impact, catalytic solutions, proposing and driving initiatives that enhance the Fundโ€™s capabilities and mission effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that enterprise-wide technology investmentsโ€”whether built or boughtโ€”are secure, scalable, and optimized for adaptability, while integrating architectural best practices and governance standards.
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight for selecting, configuring, and integrating system components, applying evaluation criteria to decide on build-versus-buy scenarios and SaaS integrations that adhere to data protection and privacy best practices.
  • Champion an agile, cloud-native enterprise architecture that simplifies complexity, addresses performance challenges, and supports the Fundโ€™s rapidly evolving portfolio, delivering resilient, scalable systems aligned with the Fundโ€™s climate-focused goals.

    Engagement

    • Articulate, present, and explain the value and vision of proposed architectural frameworks and solutions, addressing internal and external stakeholders.
    • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the Fundโ€™s business processes, objectives, industry directions, and emerging technology trends.
    • Communicate the business impact of enterprise architecture decisions by organizing requirements discussions, conducting proof-of-concept workshops, creating demos, and developing documentation. Provide tools and guidance that help stakeholders adopt new systems and best practices effectively.

      Delivery

      • Develop and maintain the enterprise-wide architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
      • Establish and enforce architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices across all technology domains including infrastructure, applications, data and security.
      • Identify potential risks related to architecture and technology decisions, and propose mitigation strategies to ensure secure, scalable systems.

Requirements (Education, experience, technical competencies required of the job)

        • Masterโ€™s degree ideally in software engineering, computer science, management information systems and related subjects; OR A Bachelor's degree in similar fields with an additional two years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the Masterโ€™s degree requirement.
        • At least (9) years of extensive experience in enterprise and solutions architecture.
        • At least (2) years of experience in enterprise architecture or related roles (e.g., enterprise architect, solution architect, technical lead).
        • Strong knowledge of modern architectural patterns, complemented by certifications in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) or cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
        • Proven expertise with Microsoftโ€™s end-to-end technology suite, including hands-on experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps), Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Purview. Demonstrated ability to design, integrate, and optimize these solutions to enhance data-driven decision-making, productivity, and governance across the enterprise.
        • Experience in DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform and Bicep, to streamline cloud resource provisioning, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate delivery cycles.
        • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and coping with parallel initiatives in different phases, typically under pressure with firmly committed to timelines for internal and external customer audiences and partners.
        • Familiarity with formalized procurement processes and their principles.
        • Strong analytical and project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
        • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
        • Work experience with international organizations as staff, consultant or contractor is a distinct advantage.
