The Employment Case worker works closely with employment specialist to assist newly arrived refugees and other qualified immigrants to attain self-sufficiency and overcoming barriers to employment.

Responsibilities

โ€ข Conduct intake, assessment and provide program orientation to clients eligible for employment services.

โ€ข Develop individualized self-sufficiency plans and identify barriers to self-sufficiency in partnership with each client and monitor progress.

โ€ข Provide case management services that are relevant to the clientโ€™s goals, including the distribution of direct financial assistance, applications for public benefits, referrals to medical, legal, education and mental health services, community resources among others.

โ€ข Provide public transportation orientation when relevant.

โ€ข Ensure active clients receive at meaningful interactions over the course of the service delivery period in accordance with program requirements.

โ€ข Assess and monitor client progress to support their attainment of established goals, address challenges, and ensure that available resources are utilized.

โ€ข Detail each client interaction in accordance with program requirements. Input client information in ETO and assist with tracking and reporting as needed.

โ€ข Collaborate effectively with coworkers and partner organizations.

โ€ข Learn and implement case management guidelines for services under the Refugee Support Service and the Matching Grant programs.

โ€ข Build and maintain relationships with area service providers for the benefit of clients.

โ€ข Ensure the program related reporting is submitted in a timely manner and the employment program meets all contractual and reporting requirements.

โ€ข Use personal, insured vehicle and/or public transportation (where available) to travel and transport clients and materials as needed throughout the service delivery area

โ€ข May train and lead the activities of support staff, volunteers, and interns.

โ€ข Perform Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in social work or related field of study preferred.

โ€ข Relevant professional experience in workforce development field required; minimum of 2 yearsโ€™ experience strongly preferred.

โ€ข Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred.

โ€ข Experience in case management services a plus.

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:

โ€ข Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships.

โ€ข Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.

โ€ข Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.

โ€ข Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.

โ€ข Proficient in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in language(s) spoken by client group is desired.

โ€ข Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research and problem-solving purposes.

โ€ข Valid driverโ€™s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.

Working Environment:

โ€ข A combination of standard office environment, and โ€˜fieldโ€™ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.

โ€ข May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Compensation: (Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00) Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
