Mission and objectivesUnited Nations Development Programme (UNDP), a key UN member since 1945 and active in Iraq since 1976, is dedicated to aiding the country's transition to stability and reform. Aligned with the government's vision, UNDP strives for a resilient Iraq by addressing social, economic, environmental, and political challenges. One of its primary goals is to fortify institutions, ensuring they provide inclusive, evidence-based, and gender-responsive services, with a focus on vulnerable populations. This involves promoting transparent, accountable governance to safeguard the rights of marginalized groups and foster citizen trust in the state. The Support to Justice Initiatives curbing Corruption and promoting Commercial Dispute Resolution (ACAI) project, part of the governance portfolio, aims to combat corruption and advance commercial dispute resolution in Iraq. It has five key outcomes: refining the legal and strategic framework for anti-corruption, boosting the capabilities of the justice sector to handle corruption cases, strengthening legislation and institutions for commercial dispute resolution, garnering parliamentary support for anti-corruption reforms, and enhancing transparency and public accountability. The Trial Monitoring (TM) Programme, falling under output 2, specifically focuses on monitoring high-level corruption cases in Iraq's specialized courts.
ContextUNDP Iraq is developing a comprehensive paper titled โHealing Pathways: UNDP's MHPSS Approach to Sustainable Reintegration.โ This paper will outline the rationale, components, challenges, and impact of integrating Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) into reintegration programming for returnees in Iraq. It will draw from field practices, programmatic experience, key data, and research. The final paper is intended to inform future programming and partnerships while contributing to a broader understanding of how MHPSS strengthens reintegration outcomes. To support this process, UNDP Iraq is engaging 20 Online Volunteers with complementary skills to contribute to research, analysis, writing, editing, and layout design of the final paper and associated materials.
Task DescriptionOnline Volunteers will be divided into five functional teams: 1. Research Team (6 volunteers) Support background research and evidence collection on MHPSS in Iraq, key providers, context, and examples of reintegration programming. 2. Thematic Writing Team (6 volunteers) Draft clear and concise sections of the paper based on the outline, ensuring alignment with UNDPโs approach and messaging. 3. Lead Writer & Editor (1 volunteer) Compile all content into a cohesive, high-quality final draft and ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency throughout the paper. 4. Policy Brief Team (2 volunteers) Develop a short and compelling policy brief that summarizes the main findings and recommendations of the paper. 5. Design & Layout Team (3 volunteers) Design the layout and visual elements of the final paper and policy brief, including formatting, graphics, and infographics. Final deliverables: three reports
