Mission and objectivesUnited Nations Volunteers (UNV) is based in Bonn, Germany, with around 300 staff members at headquarters. In 2024, there were over 14,600 UN Volunteers deployed in some 170 countries around the world. UNV has an offices in New York and Tokyo, six regional offices in Amman, Bangkok, Dakar, Istanbul, Nairobi and Panama City, and 60 Field Units. Toily Kurbanov is the Executive Coordinator of UNV.
ContextThe United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), together with UNV and the Government of Qatar, will host the Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2) in Doha from 4โ6 November 2025. This first-of-its-kind global summit in Qatar will bring world leaders together to advance inclusive and equitable development. To ensure the success of the event, UNV is mobilizing 560 Onsite National UN Volunteers (Qatari citizens and residents) to support in roles such as airport services, guest reception, logistics, conference room assistance, and media coordination. Online Volunteers will play a key role in making sure as many eligible people in Qatar as possible know about these opportunities and apply before the deadline. By helping us spread the word, you will contribute directly to the participation of Qatarโs citizens and residents in this historic global event. Task DescriptionWe are looking for 100 Online Volunteers who will support outreach and promotion of the WSSD2 volunteer opportunities in Qatar. Under the guidance of UNVโs Regional Talent Acquisition Analyst, volunteers will: Share the official WSSD2 volunteer calls on social media platforms, WhatsApp groups, and community networks in Qatar. Connect with local organizations, universities, and youth groups to encourage them to promote the opportunities among their members. Adapt and create simple outreach content (short posts, visuals, captions) tailored to the Qatari audience to maximize visibility and applications.
