5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Mission and objectivesWith its establishment on 7 April 1948, WHO works worldwide to promote health, keep the world safe, and serve the vulnerable. WHOโ€™s goal is to ensure that a billion more people have universal health coverage, to protect a billion more people from health emergencies, and provide a further billion people with better health and well-being.

ContextThe 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign running from 25 November to 10 December, calling for global action to end violence against women and girls. Each year, the UNITE Campaign highlights a specific theme and mobilizes citizens, institutions, and communities to take visible steps toward a world free of gender-based violence. In this context, WHO Tรผrkiye, in cooperation with UNV, has launched a Special Programme Initiative to engage UN Community Volunteers in supporting WHOโ€™s operations during the campaign period. The initiative particularly aims to empower women in the IT sector and enhance WHOโ€™s internal systems supporting gender-responsive programming and digital advocacy during the 16 Days. The selected UN Community Volunteers will assist the WHO Tรผrkiye team with technical IT support that contributes to the campaignโ€™s implementation and visibility. By ensuring smooth digital operations, volunteers will help strengthen WHOโ€™s outreach, advocacy, and communication efforts under the 16 Days of Activism framework.
