About the Program:

WRI is a fast-paced and growing organization, with experts and staff around the world. As we grow our programs and impact throughout our global network, we are enhancing our global fundraising capacity to resource our ambitious strategies. The Global Development Department (GDD) raises all unrestricted and core institutional funding and coordinates programmatic fundraising across the WRI global network. The GDD is organized into four teams grouped by fundraising sector: corporate, government (bi- and multi-lateral), foundation, and individual philanthropy. The Coordinator will be part of a small and dynamic team leading WRIโ€™s engagement with foundations globally.

Job Highlight:

In this role, you will manage knowledge resources and data essential for donor cultivation, stewardship, and communications; and for providing administrative and operational support, including scheduling, maintaining meeting records, fulfilling due diligence requests, and tracking the pipeline of funding opportunities. You will play an important role in WRIโ€™s Development operations and offer a valuable opportunity to learn about fundraising strategy and practice in a global organization.

What will you do:

Fundraising Coordination (15% time):

Prepare briefing documents and organize materials for high-level meetings between WRI staff and funders and in advance of important WRI events and travel

Track key and ongoing conversations, touchpoints, and stewardship opportunities with WRI foundation funders

Track donor priorities to identify points of intersection with WRI goals and work plans

Provide support in submitting proposals, applications, and funder reports including copyediting and ensuring the proper submission of all required documents

Operational Support (40% time):

Perform regular revenue tracking of potential funding opportunities, newly awarded funding, and ongoing multi-year grants. Monitor funding pipelines for new, stalled, and cross-institutional funding opportunities

Provide general administrative support for the Foundation Relations team, i.e., scheduling internal and external meetings, coordinating meeting agendas, note-taking and follow up, arranging travel, preparing/submitting expense reports, processing invoices, and other administrative tasks

Help track the Foundation teamโ€™s priorities and tasks through shared project management tools (such as Asana)

Maintain a working knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines to support the Foundation Relations day-to-day operations with guidance from the Development Operations Manager

Internal Communications (10% time):

Provide support on internal communications, including coordinating team inputs and developing content for internal communications vehicles, such as WRInsider; update the Foundation teamโ€™s intranet page

Coordinate team inputs to update foundations contacts lists for institutional communications

Donor Research and Donor Stewardship (35% time):

Prepare, update and organize prospect research reports and institutional funding profiles for foundations

Draft and edit letters of grant acknowledgement, fundraising updates, and other documents

Update and maintain donor information and contacts in Salesforce including developing and running reports to ensure data accuracy and create lists for mailing and events

Assist with donor communications, including coordination of email blasts, mailings, and other outreach

What will you need:

Education: You have a completed Bachelorโ€™s degree

Experience: You have minimum 3+ years of experience

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 required; experience with SharePoint, task management tools (such as Asana), and CRM systems (such as Salesforce) desirable

Experience conducting high-level research and consolidating information into coherent written summary documents/briefings

Experience communicating and collaborating with teams from different countries; will manage complex situations

Experience working in development operations or prior fundraising experience preferred, but not required

Experience and comfort working independently, in repetition, and on administrative projects

Experience managing multiple projects

Experience with and knowledge of Salesforce CRM desirable

Languages: Proficiency in verbal and written English. (other languages a plus)

Potential Salary: Salary range is between 69,000 and 78,000 USD. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
