ContextThe Inclusive Growth and Gender Teams at the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub (IRH) in Istanbul, Türkiye, have developed a regional report and five accompanying country reports focusing on a gender responsive review of care systems. These reports require professional design and layout before publication. We are seeking an experienced online volunteer to support the design, layout, and visual presentation of these reports. The selected online volunteer will have a unique opportunity to further enhance professional skills in an international development context, expand cross-cultural communication abilities, and contribute to impactful work that promotes gender equality and inclusive growth in the region.
Task DescriptionThe Online Volunteer will be responsible for designing the reports, which includes developing the layout and creating visual content such as maps, charts, graphs, infographics, and other illustrative diagrams. They will transform both quantitative and qualitative data into engaging and accessible visuals, and offer visual and technical guidance as needed. The Online Volunteer will ensure that data is presented in a clear, understandable, and visually appealing manner that effectively communicates key information. The expected workload is up to two visual content documents per week. The Online Volunteer will: • Develop and finalize the design and layout of the regional and 5 country reports, ensuring a consistent structure, color scheme, and branding. • Create compelling visual content, including maps, charts, graphs, infographics, and other pictorial diagrams, to present both quantitative and qualitative data clearly. • Transform complex data sets and analyses into easily interpretable visuals. • Produce both printable and digital versions of each report, ensuring high quality for both formats. • Ensure all internal PDF links (references, footnotes, annexures) are functional in the digital version. • Liaise with the Social Protection Specialist in the Inclusive Growth Team and the Research and KM Analyst in the Gender Team for feedback, and incorporate edits as requested. • Ensure all photos and graphics are of high quality and appropriately licensed for use. • Adhere to UNDP branding and publication guidelines (to be provided). • Share all final design packages and editable source files (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) with UNDP IRH upon completion. • Maintain version control and proper file naming conventions. • Ensure accessibility standards are considered for digital versions.
