Mission and objectivesThe World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. As the international community has committed to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition by 2030, one in ten people worldwide still do not have enough to eat. Food and food-related assistance lie at the heart of the struggle to break the cycle of hunger and poverty. For its efforts to combat hunger, for its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict, WFP was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2020. In 2022, WFP assisted about 160 million people, a historic high. On any given day, WFP has 6,500 trucks, 20 ships and 140 aircraft on the move, delivering food and other assistance to those in most need. These numbers lie at the roots of WFPโs unparalleled reputation as an emergency responder, one that gets the job done quickly at scale in the most difficult environments. WFPโs efforts focus on emergency assistance, relief and rehabilitation, development aid and special operations. Two-thirds of our work is in conflict-affected countries where people are three times more likely to be undernourished than those living in countries without conflict.
ContextThe WFP Caribbean Multi-Country Office (MCO) recently concluded its Respect Campaign, which reaffirmed our commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative workplace. As a result of this campaign, staff jointly agreed on key behaviours and values that now constitute the MCOโs Code of Respect. To promote and reinforce these shared commitments, the MCO seeks to translate them into four visual products: โข One internal poster (print and digital production ready) โข One motion graphic โข One Microsoft Teams background โข One Outlook email signature These materials will serve as everyday visual reminders of our values and expected conduct across all MCO locations.
Task DescriptionWe are seeking an Online Volunteer to support the design and communication of the WFP Caribbean MCO's newly established Code of Respect. Under the guidance of the HR Associate and in close collaboration with the Communications Team, the Online Volunteer will produce four core graphic materialsโone internal poster, one motion graphic, one Teams background and one email signature graphicโbased on outputs from our recently concluded Respect Campaign. Specifically, the Online Volunteer is expected to: โข Develop initial design drafts and engage in discussions with the HR team to refine concepts; โข Translate campaign findings and agreed behaviours into compelling visual materials; โข Finalize the poster and motion graphic based on agreed feedback. โข Review and adhere to WFP brand guidelines; The design and layout must comply with WFPโs corporate design standards, which will be shared with the selected volunteer.
