ContextUNICEFโs spokesperson frequently travels to humanitarian emergencies, meeting children and families affected by crises. With a (personal) engaged audience of over 300,000 followers on Instagram, and access to UNICEFโs global channels of many millions, the spokesperson plays a key role in raising awareness and mobilizing support for UNICEFโs child rights work. To enhance the impact of this outreach, we are seeking a skilled Social Media Content Creator who can transform raw contentโselfie videos, key messages, and on-the-ground footageโinto compelling social media assets. The Online Volunteer will provide creative support in producing high-quality videos, graphics, and photo edits that resonate with a growing social media audience. This role is critical in ensuring that UNICEFโs emergency response efforts reach wider audiences, engage new supporters, and drive action for children worldwide. The Online Volunteer will have a key say in determining what type of content works best and will provide support before, during, and after emergency missions.
Task DescriptionUnder the guidance of UNICEFโs spokesperson and with support of digital communications colleagues, create content creation for the UNICEF spokesperson for Instagram and other social media platforms. The selected candidate will be responsible for: Producing engaging short-form videos optimized for social media (Reels, Stories, and feed posts). Editing and enhancing photos and graphics to increase visual appeal and engagement. Developing motion graphics and text overlays to ensure key messages stand out. Assisting in content strategy and post-production to align with best practices for engagement and reach. Creativity and initiative are highly encouraged, as the role offers an opportunity to experiment with different content styles and formats. *Approximate workload (noting the above): Three (3) text and image graphics per week + One (1) simple cut video per fortnight + One visual of photos and text and music per week.
