DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the professional Officer, Climate services Division and overall coordination
of relevant project managers the consultant will perform the following duties:
- Conduct content review of all training materials and case studies provided by the project team.
- Propose separate visual design for online / e-learning training courses on National Framework for Climate Services (NFCS) foundations and operationalization and satellite based.
- Produce separate interactive e-learning courses on foundations and operationalization of NFCS and satellite-based nowcasting, in collaboration with WMO staff and subject matter specialists.
- Create innovative and visually engaging graphs,infographics, and other graphics to present the training content.
- Make the training courses available on the relevant WMO e-learning platforms, in collaboration with WMO education and training staff.
OBJECTIVES OF THE CONSULTANCY
The consultant will be responsible to develop e-learning courses on the Foundations and Operationalizing the NFCS and satellite-based nowcasting for the WMO Moodle based on technical content available from WMO subject matter specialists.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The consultant will be responsible for the following:
- Propose visual design for online / e-learning training courses on National Framework for Climate Services (NFCS) foundations and operationalization; and satellite-based nowcasting.
- Produce interactive e-learning courses in collaboration with WMO staff and subject matter specialists.
- Create innovative and visually engaging graphs, infographics, and other graphics to present the training content.
- Make the training courses available on the relevant WMO e-learning platforms, in collaboration with WMO education and training staff.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
- Inception report with timelines and proposed design(s).
- Draft e-learning modules with complete content.
- Final e-learning modules after revision to integrate comments from WMO.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
A university degree (bachelor's or master's) in instructional design, digital illustration, or a related field.
Experience
At least 3 years of experience in instructional design and e-learning course development.
Other requirements
- Proven experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Moodle.
Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of WMO would be an advantage.
