For external applicants, only those who are expected to complete the term of appointment will normally be considered. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Group on Earth Observations (GEO) is a global partnership that promotes the use of Earth Intelligence as evidence for decisions, policies, and finance related to the environment and sustainable development. Despite technological advances in Earth Intelligence, key decision-makers, especially in low- and middle-income countries, often lack timely and accessible environmental data. GEO aims to close these gaps by fostering open, coordinated, and sustained sharing of environmental data, knowledge, and tools.

The GEO Secretariat (GEOSEC) leads strategic engagement, fundraising, and advocacy efforts.
A new GEO Brand Book has recently been developed, outlining a bold and unified visual identity for the GEO community. This brand must now be rolled out consistently across all GEO platforms and communication materials.
In this context, GEO is seeking a professional and creative individual consultant to provide graphic design services to support the rollout of the GEO brand and the production of high-quality visual materials that enhance the impact and visibility of GEO's work.

Under the supervision of the Chief Communications and Partnerships, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

- Develop creative, brand-aligned designs and layouts for various communication products;
- Incorporate feedback from internal and external stakeholders throughout the design process;
- Apply GEO branding consistently across all deliverables;
- Use visuals, illustrations, and infographics to enhance clarity and engagement;
- Prepare and deliver both web-optimized and print-ready formats;
- Coordinate with external printing/production providers as needed;
- Ensure all final content is free from typographical and layout errors;
- Submit monthly status reports and a final report summarizing deliverables and key results;
- Perform other design-related duties as assigned by the Chief of Communications and Partnerships.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
Deliverables may include (but are not limited to):
- Social media visuals and templates
- Event branding (banners, booth visuals, digital displays)
- Visual assets for GEO Work Programme activities
- Infographics and visual storytelling materials
- PowerPoint slide decks (branded)
- Brochures, flyers, fact sheets (print and digital)
- Report, newsletter, and web templates
